Only Murali has a better average against India since 1980.
Minimum 15 innings. So that's not true
he also has a mint strike rate.

Both tests have pretty much been decided by lunch on day 2.
I keep hearing that, and I usually agree, but not sure the toss make any difference
Jack Leach's 1st ball took a massive chunk out of the ball
Fair play to Rohit as I say, but its just not test cricket
George Dobell has just had the worst take by a cricket journalist in history, comparing it to Indian in England
does he think we can change the weather in England or someit?
just amazed how scared of India these blokes are, they darent say a bad word against them
its not conspiracy, its just pressure from Indian players, this happens, it exists. the umpires arent robots you know.
Mate they literally reviewed Kohli's wicket when he was clean bowled!
they wouldnt do that for Dan Lawrence!!
Guess if you think the toss has not made much difference?
You need to ask yourself would you have preferred us batting first or second in this test?
I am pretty sure everyone would say first like
I've no problem with the groundsmen preparing a pitch to suit the home side. It might be a bit picky of me, howevet, when I expect it to last longer than the afternoon session on the first day before it breaks up.
You made a wrong observation
England dont prepare "green tops"
you're just making stuff up.
Disagree. You said it yourself, the third umpire was good in the first test. Are you trying to tell me in the space of a couple of days he has forgotten procedure on how to check a wicket? Then even if that had happened (unlikely) are you telling me a few seconds later he forgot how to use the computer and couldn't get to the point that needed reviewed? The stumping was closer but imo he didn't look at all the angles for long enough before making his decision, why?Well first of all this is what it boils down down to rather than our players correctly being given out lbw or them preparing a pitch that suits them.
Gross incompetence in assuming they were looking at the first phase for the caughtand not seeing it through. The missed stumping should have been given out but it won’t be the first time that umpires err on the side of caution when it is a very tight call. Wrong but those two decisions aren’t evidence of some grand conspiracy imo
Sometimes it’s a matter of perspective. For folks who are used to seaming conditions, a few extra centimeters of grass left on top doesn’t make the pitch unplayable, it just makes it harder than normal for the batsmen, and ideal for the bowlers. But for subcontinent batsmen, it becomes a minefield. And please don’t tell me English curators aren’t averse to leaving a little extra grass on when the occasion demands it
Similarly, a drier than normal pitch doesn’t make the pitch unplayable for these Indians batsmen, it just makes it harder. And the spinners love it. And as we see regularly, India have never shy about preparing a dry pitch.
for me, I see both as equivalent actions. Home side advantage
I agree like it’s not a pitch conducive to good cricket and gives far too big an advantage to the winner of a coin flipI've no problem with the groundsmen preparing a pitch to suit the home side. It is a poor pitch no question. It’s not cheating though. Finally
lads this is honestly the only person who has said this

Yeah for sure, I am just trying to make the point that the pitch was a disgrace on day 1 too, we'd have struggled then
the argument by the journos seems to be...well Rohit scored runs, it cant be that bad, Jack Leach's firstball took a massive chunk out of the surface
it was, it was an amazing innings
but test cricket shouldnt be decided by 1 bloke having a slog in the first innings and getting away with it.
100% agreed
this is just a really sub standard pitch, dont mind home teams using it to their advantage in general
this just isnt fit for cricket, we will have 2 more of these, just spoilt the series really
By the way I wasn't suggesting they were cheating by doctoring the pitch. Apologies if looked like I did but I just don't think it is right to produce a pitch like this for test cricket.I agree like it’s not a pitch conducive to good cricket and gives far too big an advantage to the winner of a coin flip

sorry mate, with respect, you're just wrong, this pitch is substandrd, it isn't fit for top level cricket, and India should be sanctioned, simple as that.

I say this is clear evidence something has changed the third umpire from the first test to the second. It's not proof, obviously but if you don't think there's something been said to him that's your choice but it's hardly paranoid to look at the evidence at hand and to come to the opinion that someone has.
Sabina Park! Very similar in terms of being terrible the big difference being quicks are far more dangerous than spinners.Jonathan Agnew

You have got to be honest and say if this match was staged anywhere else in the world the ICC would be crawling all over it and Chennai would be taken off the hosting list. This is not a pitch Test cricket should be played on. It is a lottery. It is disappointing. It is not an advert for Test cricket.

Yes it is, its the worst pitch I've seen in test cricket in my life time, and I am 32
