You said he isn't a test cricketer, he is in Asia, thats not really up for debate.
The only argument has been whether you pick horses for courses batsman like you do with bowler, or do you pick batsman for all formats and hope they adapt
Always amazes me how dismissive people are of 100s in spinning conditions, very strange, its an English mentality for sure.

Jennings would be a pointless selection. Don’t really see the benefit of disrupting a team to pick someone for a maximum of 6 tests before being dropped again.
He only had one good season for Durham anyway. He’s an average to good county player who isn’t a test player.

You could probably say it about a few others over time though. Ravi Bopara scored heavily on featherbeds in the Caribbean etc.
Any test hundred is a worthy achievement. There are no easy test hundreds - but there’s a reason you don’t get many low scoring games in Asia.

Sibley and Crawley are good players and they've looked rather foolish.
You do in Sri Lanka like, the ball often turns from day 1.
Where else in the world do you open the bowling with spin bower? they aren't flat at all

I didn’t say it was easy but the games will be higher scoring than in most countries.
Not more than Australia or NZ like, certainly not in Sri Lanka anyway.
I wouldnt have picked Jennings because of your first point, but frustrated at people's attempts to dismiss his 100s, just a completely false narrative.
By the way, if it was so easy, why has nobody else but Root got remotely close to scoring a 100 for us this series? I think that tells you all you need to know about how hard it is scoring big runs on turning pitches, something Jennings can do. There is zero chance that Crawley or Sibley could play the 140 he got in Galle 3 years ago. So there you go.

Bairstow, Lawrence and Buttler have made useful contributions but otherwise I agree. That doesn’t make Jennings a suitable test player though. Foakes was our best batsman on the last Sri Lanka tour....
