Agree. This is a bloke who stayed because the majority of the football world did not want him for those reasons.
The moment another club flashed the cashbhe was off. This wasn't a club in Spain, Italy or Germany. China this place was and he went.
Says it all.
Granted Bruce is shite and we knew he would be shite second season in but the Mags under Rafa at times were as bad. Its just Rafa would set his teams up to lose 1-0 where as Bruce team lose by more
they were so lucky brighton cocked up 3 games jn a row to take the title, and in the 2 prem seaso s they had terrible ten ga e runs just as they are now, but he never gkt any blame.
he was then back with january transfers ke edy, dubravka, slimani , then almiron the next jan and they had good endings to each season, bruce tends tk dk it the opposite way round, sure his wigan teams used to be inwith a shout of europe then went on terrible runs once safe
they need a coup,e of signings now, and surely bruce is finished

They can probably afford to go without points until March and still stay outside the bottom 3 man. They are shite though.

This. There are three worse teams, and I think they’ll get a couple of half decent results. They’ll finish bottom 8, but I don’t think they’ll go down - they do have some decent players and weren’t playing that bad pre-Christmas. Very much enjoying the meltdown my black and white mates are having though.

Aye, I think Sheffield and Fulham will take the bottom spots, Allardyce might have enough to drag WBA out of it but 25pts from 20 games is no small ask. Brighton are playing some nice stuff, but they could easily get dragged into it and still have away days at Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool in the second half of the season.

By the way, why didn't Bruce plays "gloves Off" football against the worst team in the league, instead of one of the better ones? Had he gone 4-4-2, with more intensity and purpose I'd fancy us to have got a point at least. I'm now convinced he's lost the players, as soon as Arsenal got the first, the heads went and it was game over. Be surprised if Bruce gets fired any time soon though. Knowing Ashley it'll be with about 8 games to go, then he'll try to bring in Mark Hughes or Mike Bassett.

Sadly, the bottom teams are very poor and the lead they have is decent, they'll get an unlikely win or two and a few draws and that will probably be enough. It's suggested all Ashley wants as a business plan is top flight football and I'll be amazed (and ower the moon) if they don't achieve that.

They’ll not go down but watching the self centred entitled wankers blubbering and coming out with their pathetic bile and videos is wonderfully entertaining 😂

We are the worst team in the league by far IMO, the manager and the players deserve to go down, the tactics are non-existent and the players (Darlow apart) are so un-interested it's beyond belief....

I used to care when we lost, now I don't give it a second thought....

From being at nearly every home game and a regular at away games since the early 80's, holidays and life revolving around the match to not going and not giving a shit in the last 3-4 years....I really have no feelings if we win or lose....

I wanted us to get absolutely battered last night. As did many others. Anything to speed up the sacking of Bruce. I really think anybody else could do better than him. Looks like he has got no idea how to change it.
Hope we get stuffed off Villa as well. Any sort of good performance, or a draw or win only strengthens Bruce's position.
Two big defeats in the next two games would surely get him out.

I'll be totally honest, I don't get the whole hatred towards Benitez on here. His career speaks for itself - achieved a lot, but now on the decline.

I've said before I'd much rather see all three NE teams in the top flight and finish top every year, rather than this shite combination of mired in League One, Championship stalwarts and Premier League plughole dwellers. At least then we both wouldn't be laughing at the fact neither club is ran well or winning something substantial anytime soon.

No hatred from me. I think hes a nice bloke. Rinsed you lot mind.
I really have no feelings if we win or lose....

Welcome to the club. We've had that for 5 years now

But Ashley only cares about staying up, I don't think he'd sack Bruce until relegation looks possible.

I get what you're saying, but that's now. It looks possible now. Comfortably the worst performing team in the league, our only saving grace is how few points Sheffield, WBA and Fulham have. Although the latter two could catch us in a couple of weeks. I think Ashley will leave it too late and only sack Bruce when relegation looks probable, as he did with McClaren. Any other owner would have shown Bruce the door after the Sheffield result.

I agree. That's why I think two big losses against Villa and Leeds will give him the push he needs. 7 clear of relegation at the minute. If one of them closes the gap a bit then it starts to look likely. Fulham play Brighton and West Brom after they play Man United this week.
WBA next 4 are West Ham, Man City, Fulham and Sheff U.

Our next 3 are Villa, Leeds and Everton.

Big defeat off Leeds and Villa then going into Everton expecting a defeat we could be in the bottom 3

Any other owner surely wouldn't have cherry picked Steve Bruce 10 years after he was proven to be shite!

If any of the 3 close the gap I agree Ashley will gamble, but it doesn't seem imminent.

Any signings on the cards? I've not even heard you linked with anyone.

You are as likely to pick up points from them 3 games as WBA and Fulham are from theirs.

Brentford for me. The writing was on the wall then. That game and performance was unforgivable in the circumstances.

No, nobody would have picked Bruce. Rumour is that Bruce was 11th choice. Dunno where that number came from, but it sounds realistic. We were mocked for not wanting Bruce, but even the owner apparently wasn't massively keen on the man.

I dunno, we're terrible, but more than that, we don't look like we've got a clue what we're supposed to be doing. At least Fulham are trying to play football. And West Brom will sharp conform to Allardyce's style. Start picking up 1-0 and 0-0s.

It'll likely only be loan signings. We need a substitute striker, a good CM and maybe a right back? Can't see any permanent signings because we've 4 'strikers' on the books (CW, AC, DG & Joe), 5 centre midfielders (JS, IH, JH, ML, SL) and 3-4 right backs (EK, JM, DY and maybe Murphy). And because Bruce got the players he wanted in the summer (CW, RF, JH & JL) to the tune of £36m.

Maybe, don't think many owners would sack a manager because of a cup exit though. Even if it was embarrassing.
