.. Gona get pelters, but I thought he did a cany job here until it went sour .. And while it was right to get rid of him when we did, I do think he was a little unluckily with the way our best forwards pissed off ..
I was canny chuffed about his appointment for us after googling news stories about his time with Wigan.

A few posts on their message board swiftly dashed any hope of well-scouted players, good results and decent football from angry Wigan fans.

Bruce is a genius at protecting his reputation. You don’t know what you’re saddled with until he rocks up and the shit show begins.

I certainly don’t miss his patter which hasn’t changed at all going by those quotes.

It’s never, ever his fault

Mags hate him cos he ain’t a geordie.
Ask Brucie’s, he’ll tell you, everybody hates him. When he was a kid they had to tie a lamb chop round his neck so the dog would play with him.

Do people genuinely believe that Steve Bruce is a better manager and has been better for them than Benitez? Because I mean, it's just quite obviously not true.

I don't know who's winding who up any more on here.
How it is obvious, they have a similar record fo nufc

To be fair, Almiron is fuckin shite.

There's the flaw in your argument.

thats because the mls is a pile of shite. His record in the mls is similar to when he’s played league 1 sides in the cup

The flaw in both your arguments is that talent doesn't care where it plays. Alphonso Davies just won everything he could pretty much with Bayern Munich and he was playing in MLS. Tyler Adams is doing the same with RB Leipzig after being at New York Red Bulls. Gio Reyna would have played for NYCFC comfortably had he not decided to up and leave. I know Jozy Altidore haunts this club, but MLS is a league trending upwards and part of that is because it's getting younger talent on board.

That doesn't mean there aren't some stinkers in there, or defending that would make you wince, but you could say that of many leagues. The general standard of MLS isn't as high as Europe, but it still has good players floating about.

Is Gerrrarrd kind of boring, safety first football? Be class if they got him he'd drive them nuts.
Mind you, he could put his Champions League medal in the mag trophy cabinet

Good sir, I thank you. I have not been able to put my finger on how I feel about Bruce, but that nails it. He is very good at protecting his reputation and getting excuses in first

you've mentioned three good players there. Almiron is shite and just like jozy can’t cut it in a top league

Almiron was terrible under Rafa not scoring a single goal or having one single assist in any league game under his old manager. Under Bruce he did at least manage 8 goals in league and cup

He is awful like but he is not doing as well as can be expected with that team. For all the money Rafa spent the team he put together was awful imo, tbf he did well to get them playing above their level. Bruce comes along buys maximin and Wilson and they instantly are their best players. The problem for mags is Rafa was before bruce and not the other around as bruce knows how do put a decent team together, if they did ever get Rafa back they'd be insane to let him have any say on who they signed.

Nah, sorry we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, he may not be an elite attacker, but the notion he couldn't cut it in a top league is untrue. He could go to La Liga tomorrow and be a top half player no bother.

Do I need to dust off my powerpoint presentation on why Goals and Assists are a very bad way to judge a player?

If you can find one that can put a positive spin on an attack minded player that doesn't get a single goal and a single assist for a manager then fill your boots.

To be honest I don’t even know if I felt this much disdain towards Pardew. I honestly think it’s equal part horrific, abysmal, clueless football combined with his utterly deluded interviews. The recent Leeds game he said we matched them for 80 minutes when they had battered us from pillar to post.

Pardew won the manager ofthe year award with you lot. When he walked out on you, you immediately plummeted to the bottom of the league and nearly got relegated. Then you actually did get relegated the season after. You’ve never got back to the heights he had you at when he walked.

If you had disdain for him, then you were never ever going to like Bruce.
