Posh one In Newcastle on the same scholarship as him. Won’t say which one as I’ve got enough people hate me already.

Makes you reassess your life as you’re tucking into a Pot Noodle for your Sunday dinner.

He was a canny lad mind. He had a season ticket before football got fashionable for a school like that. He was from Durham way I think when a Durham Mag was still a contradiction in terms.

I remember I only missed 2 away games 1989-90 and never missed a single game the next year home or away when I'd moved to Scotland. There was probably only a dozen lads in the school who were properly into footy and 10 of them were SAFC.

Fast forward a few years and I would get kids from school coming up to me out on the drink saying how much they had always loved the Mags and were the best fans in the world, resplendent in their daft Barcode tops.

It’s amazing that Methven and Donald have managed to get us back to a point as low as that. I never thought it was possible.

I'm guessing RGS as Rugby is obviously the number one sport plus a bit cricket mebees. My office was in Jesmond late 90's early noughties so I witnessed colleagues that were parents of kids at RGS or Church High suddenly attending mag games (in the boxes obviously) and being totally f***ing clueless.

I know it's (not) over

What a place to seal your fate
A deserted carpark not even a date
Please don't tell me it's too late
If you love someone don't throw it all away
Now the lights out, I discover
Just a weekend undercover
Tell me it's not over
Tell me it's not over
Tell me it's not over

If the issues Nixon mentions are since resolved, then good. I'm not sure how they've been resolved in just a week though, this is a massive change to the deal.

There's a lot to unpack here assuming Nixon is even close to the truth, but one of the most interesting parts is that it appears that KLD and JS are apparently not using a holding company to jointly buy the shares in Madrox. They're going to purchase shares from Donald in Madrox and administer them as two separate people. I wonder if JS tried to convince him that he was fed up with SD and CM, and that together they would own 79% of the club and a majority, and KLD has got cold feet about a deal like that with 3 people who have a lot of business history together. If they'd have used a holding company, the only thing that would have mattered was which one of JS or KLD had final say in the holding company.

It's a huge distinction, as a lot of people pointed this out very early on in the process - KLD would effectively have owned a minority share in us, and the current consortium of owners would still hold a majority if they wanted to exercise it. Now we know why they used bullshit euphemisms about 'share realignment' instead of outright calling it a takeover. I'm sure KLD knew this was possible from the start, but the only plausible reason he would have even considered such a deal would have been on the basis that JS and SD did not agree on how to run the club, and JS needed KLD to form a new majority partnership.

It's definitely positive if KLD wants more say and a majority shareholding, as the upshot is that it legitimately would constitute a takeover. What worries me is that the person feeding Madbob sounds a lot like the person who has been feeding other ITK's, and that person who is saying it's all done bar the shouting has a vested interest in continuing the takeover momentum. I'd be pleasantly surprised if KLD called their bluff on this and they have ceded any ability to form a majority to him, but it's a big deal and a big change to the terms, it'll likely require quite a lot of renegotiation.

tl;dr Basically, even if SD/CM and JS agreed that KLD can take a majority in just a few days this week (clearly going against their original plan to get his cash without ceding control), I'd be staggered if the legal agreements didn't need a substantial rework.

Absolutely mental that this could cause problems. Billionaire who buys into a club wants to actually have the final say on things, what a shocker. As if he'd be happy just ploughing money in and watching the current incumbents, who have proven themselves utterly inept at even getting us out of this league, spending it.
This! Why would KLD want these failures making decisions.

I’ll eat my own words if there is a takeover, and by that I mean KLD or whoever the new owner is/will be holding 51%+ if the shares.

This has gone on for too long, been about 2 months now since the guardian said was nearly done and like 5-6 weeks since RR said was with the EFL.

Has Hunter ever questioned Methven over his comments about the supporters or argued the fans case for us?

Has he ever questioned Donald over the legitimacy of his daughter allegedly being accosted at a bus stop by three random SAFC supporters in the middle of a pandemic?

These remain serious issues that must be queried and answered by the individuals who made them at some point.
It would be appropriate for him to ask those questions , purely as a journalist.

Don't forget we were first told about the POE via Barnes on July 26th.

The timeline is grim. It took 3 months from that point for KLD to submit a formal bid, which isn't unusual, but for that bid to then be accepted in the last week of October, and 7 weeks later to be undergoing fundamental changes is not a great sign that everything was as far advanced as we were told in November.
