It’s hard to be positive about it mind given the bloke seems to have done fuck all and the fans of his previous clubs flit between laughing emojis and “meh” not exactly a ringing endorsement

That said it sounds like he at least tries to play a bit of football which is a positive. That is literally the only positive I can think of

I know there are concerns about Lee Johnson being a smug twat and also concerns about his results - sometimes great, sometimes crap.
But I 100% wanted a management team that would invest in youth and develop our young players - it looks like we have got that.
I am old enough to support a winning team - 73 was a fantastic year.
In all my times following the lads, one of my favourite times was the Elliott-Arnott-Rowell era born from a disaster.
They did brilliantly even if they did fall short of what I hoped they would have achieved. Does not stop them being absolute Sunderland legends.

The smug twat comments remain my only reservation: but I will live with that if great footy is now coming back our way.
I’m more worried about his height. Has there ever been a really good short manager?

I'm more concerned about the players. Hopefully Johnson's style of football might finally get a tune out of Grigg.

Not much else to do than get behind him and hope he's alright. I really hope that Johnson rams it down the naysayers throats until they gag, choke and die.
Bookmarked so I can watch you gag, choke and die on your own bullshit!

I’m on fence , his record is poor
Sorry 😬
If he gives youth a chance it's his best bet to get the fans on his side, the experienced players we have in general haven't been pulling up any trees and can't play the quick way he is supposed to favour, he hasn't got a choice really imo. His other attribute is he is willing to work under the new sporting director which I'm not sure the others fancied, I'm still massively underwhelmed and disappointed though, just trying to find the odd positive in his appointment.

I'm definitely on the fence but it's pathetic some people writing him off before we have played a game under him.
Do we not give people a chance anymore?
If we had poached Pep from Citeh should we be fuming that Klopp didn't get the job?
I understand people who wouldn't have picked him out of the available options (I would have went for Cowley personally) but I can't get my head round people completely unwilling to give him a chance or should we keep sacking managers every year because its worked so well the last decade
