So the new owners wanted Lee Johnson

So Derby county, the Derby county about to be one of the richest clubs on the planet are interested in the bloke who we are after, the one who has achieved nothing in his managerial career.

I’m
Not
Convinced
Let’s play along. Let’s say Derby ARE after him

How plausible is it that he’d choose to come to us?

It's criminal to be honest. Every time I've seen him interviewed on TV I've thought what a smug ignorant fucker and now he's our head coach.
Signed Mo Eisa and that was only because his dad was manager of Cheltenham at the time and got a commission on the sale. Sacked soon after.
He currently has no club and is free so a viable option to our board.

You really think Pearson and SKP wouldn't come?
Stop under selling us man.
Yeah, we are league 1, but 3 years ago we were PL, getting 40,000 plus gates🤨
Not underselling mate.....I'm well aware what we were.
Its what we are now,and that's what some are failing to grasp.
No, we’re not. We’re not a 3rd tier club and the sooner people stop f***ing accepting statements like this, the better.

We have a 3rd tier owner, ex-manager and team but we’re not a 3rd tier CLUB !

We are in the third tier, therefore a third tier club mate...no ifs or buts about it.
We all know what we were and in terms of fans, stadium etc i agree ,but everything else is 3rd tier.
And to use your words, the sooner people start f***ing accepting statements like this the better.

Two wins on the spin and he'll be hailed as the new Messiah...
Two losses on the belt he'll be worse than Hitler.

It's amazing people still can't swallow this bitter pill.

Football fans are fickle and often hold conflicting views. If it had been an inexperienced coach then many would have criticised it. You can't please all of the people all of the time.
Listen to the interview (again). Recognition of the need for 1St team improvement and promotion, while also putting in a long term structure, approach and vision.
If your future depended on achieving that, would you gamble on inexperience ?

Well said. But then if he had been an experienced manager fans would have been saying we appoint over-the-hill managers who are "past it".

The ‘new’ owners have done extremely well to identify an academy coach from the second tier and a former mid table second tier manager. A footballing renaissance like no other.
Yes because the well known names we’ve had in the past like Martin O’Neill, David Moyes, Dick Advocaat and Chris Coleman all set the world alight didn’t they?

Let's give the bloke a chance. People need to remember we are not the Sunderland we were 10 year ago. We are an established Div 1 side. Some on here are more deluded than the Mags and this big club bollocks.
Coventry, Charlton, Wycombe, f***ing Rotherham, Luton and Barnsley have all got out this league before us without a Big Name DOF or Manager. If he can get us out this league, job done and then worry about Managerial appointments later.
If he can make sensible decisions with tactics and changes and can play football where the ball goes in the opposition's half and then I am all for him

Even if it is proven in time that he has moderate limitations, lets get behind him and be positive , hope he has enough enthusiasm and ability to get these lazy fuckers up a division, put the wasters in their place then maybe consolidate (not go back down, mid-table?) After that move him on if we need too to progress,if it gels ,,happy days

That’s odd, because when I look at the league table for the 3rd tier, I see our name in it. Same goes for the last 2 seasons as well.

The club are trying something new in an attempt to turn our fortunes around. Johnson’s not anyone’s first choice as manager but the meltdowns on here are somewhere between cringeworthy and hilarious - it’s Mag-esq. He’s only 39 and has shown glimpses at his other clubs that he could be good, but is let down badly by his Steve Bruce style tendency of going on 10 game losing streaks. For all we know this might be the club where it all clicks for him.
