He was sacked after picking up two points from his last nine matches in charge. But bear in mind his record breaking eight match losing run earlier in his Bristol City career.

Do football fans like any managers these days? Especially ones who have been in jobs for a couple of years. They fell short of the play-offs and that must have been frustrating, but they were 22nd and heading for League One when he took over there.

We can only hope he’s coming to fit in with new structure as coach, especially around academy & getting kids into first team. That would mean he isn’t recruiting players and others are.

Context important. His time at Bristol city was in a tough division with a lower end of the table team which he made into promotion contenders. Most of Parkinson’s career has been in lower leagues.

Yeah I’m no fan of Johnson but Barnsley and Oldham especially were always fighting relegation in league one. It’s a hard one to judge. Certainly he won’t last long here if he keeps a 37% win ratio (in a full season, depending on the amount of draws, that would see us finish with about 60 odd points).
