Lee Johnson

Bristol City fans seem to genuinely hate him, his record isn't great and goes on long losing streaks and appears unable how to stop them. I'm no particular fan of Cowley either but if it's a choice of Johnson or Cowley then I'd go for Cowley every time.

I wouldn’t be against Johnson if I’m honest. Most managers have had a bad end but he generally improved Bristol City.
He was sacked because he was supposed to get them promoted. In 8 years as manager he has achieved at best an 8th place finish. The fans at Bristol City and Barnsley hated him. He has never achieved even a play off spot. Other than that he's a good talker. Would be without doubt the worst of all linked (other than Campbell) and for that reason he will be appointed. I couldn't believe they could sicken the fans more than when they appointed Parkinson but, silly me, of course they can. It would be a laughable/tragic appointment.

Lots of positive Lee Johnson stories going around - smacks of a Methven PR campaign to try and get support for what would be a dreadful appointment.

It does read like a puff piece. The question has been asked who would be the most Parkinsonesque appointment this time round, so step forward Mr Lee Johnson. Actually that's a bit unfair on Parkinson, at least he has got teams promoted. Johnson has achieved zilch. The only records he has set are for lengths of losing runs.
He would be a monumentally dreadful appointment even by the standards of SAFC.

Not Johnson. As an appointment does not inspire, if we can't have a big name (highly unlikely), go for someone with at least a bit of a track record.
Probably the Cowleys.

This is pure PR. The likes of Methven take as utter mugs. We know his track record and its utter rubbish. We know the fans of Barnsley and Bristol City couldn't stand him. The lack of awareness of our owners is breath taking. Johnson will be, rightly, an incredibly unpopular one. Very noticeable that in the article it was his Dad talking him up. Oh dear, what have these idiots done to our club?

I dont want the chap at all, could only play counter attacking football so home form was terrible iirc. Underachiever with a decent squad.

He would be a shocking appointment. Biggest budget of any Bristol City manager in history and couldn't even make the play-offs. He has achieved nothing as a manager and will achieve nothing here.

I don't want Cowley, but he is lightyears ahead of Johnson.

One thing is for sure, the shortlist is made up purely from out of work managers as that dumpy little chancer won't spend a penny.

Put a team managed by Johnson against a team managed by the Cowleys. You get the sense that Johnson’s team would play some nice stuff along the way but that the Cowleys would take the points.
