They are all basically the same, definition changing slightly between clubs.

In charge of the football side of the business - scouting, player purchases and sales, coaches all through the structure, appointment of head coach/manager, etc.

I think it depends club to club, as sporting/technical directors can do a lot of similar roles, similarly with a DoF.

There doesn’t seem to be any chronological sense in what is happening at the moment. I doubt very if Donald has the foresight or inclination to appoint someone like Speakmam. So the question is who has (if indeed he is being appointed)? If it’s the Sartorial ensemble then I would have thought they would have completed the takeover first. The other point is, I would be very surprised if Sartori was even aware of Speakman’s existence. Something doesn’t add up here!
