What surgery have you had?

Adenoids and tonsillectomy when I was 13. Turned out to be less than straightforward as they had stop the operation halfway through as I was losing a lot of blood as my nose wouldn’t stop bleeding. After the operation because I was still losing blood, I can actually remember spending an uncomfortable night getting a tube stuck up my nose to suck the blood out and then they packed my nose up. They even rang my mum to ask if she could get to the hospital quickly as there was a chance I wouldn’t survive the night!

Rotator cuff a few years ago.
3 or 4 back operations a long time ago
Dislocated thumbs popped back in (rugby)

possibly others, but it's too early in the morning to get the brain into gear

How long were you out after the ACL...?
Need to get mine done

I went down around 9am and woke up in the afternoon starving. I was in Sunderland general for about 30hrs in total,

The full op is on Youtube if you have the stomach for it.

I was Durham Uni Hospital for four and half days for my Patellar tendon op, had the op itself the day Sunderland beat Liverpool with a beach ball. I was still a bit loopy from the Anesthetic when I asked if anybody knew the final score, actually thought I had imagined it, took a bit to sink in:lol:

I had it done between Christmas and New year in 2008. My first op was cancelled on the day, so I thought I would be waiting until at least the Jan/Feb. I got all call from my mam while at work on Christmas eve to say my appointment was 4 days for new years!!!! We had a canny spell of snow in the January which prevented me from getting out on my sticks.

The drugs don't half fuck with you senses when you wake up.

Three lots of brain surgery, twice through the groin and once through the skull. During a patch up operation the surgeon nicked an artery without realising and I woke up during the night in hospital with a chest dressing like an inflated hot water bottle on my chest and was rushed down for another op.
My dad was like that when he had surgery to remove part of his lung. A staple came out and his body swelled up like the Michelin Man and stopped his heart. They had to resuscitate him.

A dislocated digit isn't surgery man. Got mine popped back in at the side of the pitch then carried on ;)

Just had my Achilles tendon re attached and now on one leg for 8 weeks. Mainly bedridden atm.
Also had a bi lateral knee replacements done 19 months ago. Wouldn't have gone back for the other so pleased they did them both at the same time.
Haemaroidectomy 2 years ago.
Rotator cuff on my left shoulder... twice 11 years apart.

I'm sure someone here will beat this easily.

I’ve been off work for 4 months with my right rotator cuff..fkn nightmare.

3 elbow ops, 2 x Medial epicondyle release surgery and one to reroute the nerve.
Saliva gland removed.
Tonsillectomy in my 40’s after they tried to kill me, worst pain I’ve ever had.
Vasectomy.
I think that’s it, everything I broke playing footy, tibia, nose, fingers didn’t need ops just a chalk or strapping up.

Needed an operation to sort my left knee out after i dislocated it and it never sat back in properly. Had some bone coming under the knee Cap apparently. Took them nearly 4 hours and scar is fkn massive compared to what I was expecting like. 9 month or so later played my first game of football and done exactly the same to my right leg  Thankfully didn’t need surgery tho. After the second one I wanted some answer because surely I wasn’t this unlucky for no reason. Turns out it’s extremely easy to hyperextension my knees because of how flexing they are or summit like that.Never played footy since so I blame than on the timber I’ve put on

Emergency surgery for ruptured gallbladder, horrific but would have been a lot worse if i’d left it another 24hrs

Tonsils and adenoids removed
Appendix removed
Minor op to remove debris in gum/jaw after a failed root canal
Sinuses drilled and some turbinate bone removed
Laparoscopy to look for endometriosis
Cone biopsies to remove parts of cervix after abnormal smears (x2)
