Takeover News/Rumours

Granted it’s highly unlikely, but if Storey agreed a deal and its progressed to the EFL to be signed off. Isn’t he currently subject to some sort of legal action? If so, surely that would stop any deal until the outcome of that is determined. Rodwell stated that only one group had provided proof of funds, so since then Storey has provided proof of his twice?? Could he even do this if another group was in a period of exclusivity?

I'd bet he's got not a chance at all.

£50mill bail out of Leagues 1 and 2 agreed. Is this good or bad news for any proposed sale? Gives some certainty over finances for the year so that's good the bad that it could give Stewy enough money to not be forced to sell.
He'll just add £1m to the price

I wouldn't hold a meeting in the middle of takeover negotiations to get asked a load of questions about it, by people who don't need and have no right, to know about the deal either. Especially as they can't answer some of them because of the deal.
So then nix all of the questions re: the take over and make it clear you can't discuss it. Some of the issues at the club right now have nothing to do with the buyers.

thats answered my question cheers. Is there any way new people could make metheven sartori sell their shares in the future?

Weirdly not at the moment.

Because they hold 20% and 6%, the new owners couldn't get to 90% (forced buyout) unless they bought most of Sartori's shares. They could then force Methven to sell up.

But if both don't want to sell, they would be stuck with them because the cost to dilute Sartori would be too high at 20%.

Prehab seems to be saying tonight that it's back to being a share realignment, which could only realistically be Sartori as Methven can't afford to do it.

I'd guess he couldn't pass the fit and proper test.

No, he couldn't do it if the POE is active with someone else, that would definitely be a breach of it and Madrox would owe the other party whatever the agreed compensation was.

Bob reckons Charlie can afford it.

i am sorry to say, he has given proof of funds on 2 occasions. that is the truth.

So was Rodwell lying when saying : “The party that we’re in exclusivity with, they’ve shown us proof of funds. They’re the only people to actually do so. Lots of people – they’re all over the internet claiming that they’re close to buying the football club, but only one party has ever shown us proof of funds and given us a credible plan to take the football club forward, and that’s the party that we’re currently involved in exclusivity with"

Because that was only a couple of weeks ago so either a) Storey is the one with exclusivity (which is unlikely since Rodwell mentions people on the internet claiming they're close to buying us, which realistically has to be referring to Storey) b) Storey hadnt shown proof of funds then but has now, twice, in two weeks, which doesn't sound realistic c) Rodwell is lying and actually more than one group has shown proof or d) your post is incorrect?

I think (b) is out as under the exclusivity thing they can't talk to Storey?

People, please wake up. This is all absolute bullsh*t. He thinks hes got a chance here. One last throw of the dice on going up. Hes ego driven and doesn't like the thought of failing AGAIN like he did at Eastleigh. Plus hes probably in for more here. Hes trying to bluff it out. He f*cked it with FPP, which i believe was 100% genuine, and now its gone t*ts up. He'll know he can sell for a realistic price as a worst case but hes going to have a pop at a big payday by trying to get promotion first.

Sorry fella, you are going to be disappointed if that's what you think is going to happen.

Prehab's exact words, so everyone knows what is the latest:

Not really.

Initially it was always a full blown buy out. Every share. That's what we all wanted due to the sheer incompetence of current lot.

Unfortunately, didn't materialise.

Then share realignment, it's still that but it's swayed heavily into what I call 'favourable'

So it's loads better. I think people will be surprised to be honest. Just need it done. Been a long road.

I think it's also worth pointing out (no criticism of prehab!):

'Share realignment' isn't actually a real term, or certainly not one that has a defined meaning. It's a euphemism that CM and SD (I assume it started with them because it smells like their bullshit) have used to specifically describe whatever is happening in this deal.

My understanding of what they mean by it is that Donald is selling 31% or more of his shares to Sartori, who will then have a majority stake, while Donald will then have a minority stake. That's the only way it makes any remote sense.

The only 'favourable' thing I can think that would attach to this is that perhaps JS has secured some funding from somewhere to throw some money at us in the short term.

But if any new shareholders are inbound, I wouldn't think that the 'share realignment' would be the right term, which is... confusing!

I can't speak for prehab but I don't think he believes it's just Sartori buying Donald out. By share realignment I think he just means it's not all of them leaving, they (or some of them) will still have shares, just less than before. Thats what I think he means by realignment. He is suggesting it's quite positive, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't call sartori taking Donald's place as a particularly positive move
