The 2nd one, is he not just implying it’s a life choice to come out as gay, rather than saying folk choose to be gay?
Given that the whole context of the clip is that he’s clearly speaking out in support of LGBT and rooting out homophobia and other formers of bigotry, I think it’s a bit of a stretch to perceive ill intent and want to cancel the bloke for errrr anti-gay bigotry.

Not surprised to see Collymore attempting to whip up a frenzy. He blocked me on twitter for pointing out his fondness for threatening people who had different opinions to him.

It's just a Generational thing. Most people in their 50s and above have used that expression at some point in their lives and the last thing on their minds would have been racism. People just love jumping on a bandwagon.
This.

It's hard to keep up.

One week black is OK. Next week it isn't. Then it changes back.

I was speaking to the police about something I'd witnessed, I had to ask them if 'mixed race' was still an acceptable term.

Apparently not, it's now 'blended heritage' but I hadn't seen the memo.

It's probably changed again since.

He shoulda been sacked for his secret meetings with the big six. All the rest is a mere sideshow. The mans untrustworthy and an idiot taboot. Anyone in public life thinking they can get away with owt these days are obviously dinosaurs and need retiring ASAP.

That was the EFL CEO wasn't it?

It’s not just a generational thing, I’m still a long way off 50, and based on this thread, I can honestly say that I haven’t got a clue which terms are currently seen as acceptable or not.

There was a black lass on CNN, as well as her white colleague saying woman of colour in reference to the Vice President Elect - surely not an issue?
People of colour = acceptable
coloured people = not acceptable

Basically.

Obviously this will cause a bit of a stink on social media and in the news, and there is some element of truth to him being probably past his use by date but within the context of what he is saying, it's is more like your embarrassing relative who doesn't know how to phrase things than some out and out racist.

Just like the comment about all the Asian people in the IT department at the FA. He's trying to make a point but is absolutely butchering how he is doing it and making himself look an idiot.
