And a lot of people do work hard to have those things. However it's a well known fact that people have more debt and less savings than ever before. The pressure from social media and having wannabe celebrity TV shows though has probably caused it.
I grew up in mid to late 70s and had the best childhood in 70s and 80s. Decent council estate. None of us ever thought we were poor but you knew there were kids in the class who got free dinners and stunk a bit cause they came from the 'rough street'. No hols abroad, Scarborough every year, takeaway was a birthday treat. Mam hardly worked so you didnt need child care. No school uniforms . Life was simple ... then cheap and available credit meant more people could have a better lives materially. My child has much more than I ever had but none of the fun and quality of life I had. Now for most families there is so much extra expense. Kids junior school each year have a trip which in total over the 4 years is about 700 quid. I had Whitby, Lightwater Valley and Flamingo Land they have stayovers in France, Allendale go name but two. World Book day, Halloween, Xmas, birthdays etc they all add up

I can relate to all of that mate.

My child has spent day in isolation, face on a tablet or phone or tv all day. Even in normal times none of them play out and rarely go go each others houses. I'm sticking NOW 5 on (first album i got) to go back in time šŸ˜

Why don't they just get on with it and stick the whole country into Tier 3 restrictions?

As he doesn't want to do that.

He thinks this local lockdown approach is better as it keeps other areas open that don't have cases.

The irony when BJ says a national lockdown would bring misery on the whole country but he doesnā€™t mind inflicting misery on the North of England ??

Will check with the place I am booked with before go like, long as they are fine with it have nothing to worry about.

I amendee my my booking with the camping and caravan club to go Monday instead of Tuesday. Asked what happened if we got put in T3 between now and travelling. They were fine and said we wouldnt be turned away as in self contained accommodation and still legal to travel.

Yeah I don't think we will be in tier 3 by next week to be fair but good to know they are using a bit of sense if we are.
