IPL 2020

Caught a bit of today’s game, universe boss and Rahul played well but the game went to the last ball for no reason, other than basic miscalculation and thinking they had won too early, but they got over the line

Problem with Wood is you'd have to sign him on a pay as you play deal, he wouldn't be able to cope with the frequency of games in the IPL
Wood was that bad in his last and only appearance in the IPL they sent him back to Durham to play rather than keep him in the squad not sure anyonea taking a risk on him anytime aoon. Starc pulled out of IPL earlier in the year prior to COVID due to a busy schedule this year and the T20 world cup.

I think Wood has proved he's a much better bowler since then, sure someone would look past his previous stint

I'd consider moving Stokes to open if there's a particular reason you wanted a left-right combo, but as long as Malan plays you've a leftie coming in at 3 whilst you'd thing the regular openers are all right-handed.

But yea I agree with Buttler should be lower down and just be flexible to come in whenever, ideally 4 or 5. Keeps the left-right combo and it just adds more team value, even if it makes Buttler more peripheral. Buttler can bat anywhere, whichever two of Bairstow/Roy/Banton play are openers in T20 and would be far weaker in the middle order.

That is absolute lunacy from Dhoni. Bowling a left arm spinner to two left arm batsmen in the final over, when they need a big over and small boundaries.

Pretty much cost them the match.
