Did the board tell CM to clear off? The public story was that he resigned of his own accord.
One thing that is odd, is that we still haven't appointed a new chairman 3 months after Donald 'resigned'.
There is always a chance. But its unlikely whilst the owner thinks he has more to gain by keeping the club solvent and can afford to do so.
I have thought about this from the “other side” of the “Takeover conundrum“.
The general consensus is that SD is holding out for his alleged £37ish million and is having difficulty finding a buyer who will give what he asks.
Whilst I am aware there are conditions attached to the FPP “loan” and that the loan is secured against our assets, could we have a situation where our potential suitors are squeezing the owner by sitting back and calling his bluff? Hence this prolonged “sale period”?
The possibility of knowing the Club is, or could be, dependant upon SD financing current operating costs from his own limited resources and knowing this, are prepared to wait until that resource runs out and Administration becomes a real possibility or, God forbid, actually happens. If either of these scenarios happen, the Club’s value will be much reduced and a change of ownership could happen on the purchaser’s terms rather than the current owners?
