There was a 26yo blend on MoM yesterday, finished in a maple syrup cask for £400. There’s so much wrong in that sentence it’s difficult to know where to start.

Aye I saw it haha. I try and keep an eye on their latest stuff, see if I can manage to land one of those rare ones one day. Recently I've seemingly just missed out on Weller Full Proof, C.Y.P.B. and an E H Taylor Amaranth 😭

I'm tempted by this, has anyone given it a try?

My dad and his mate loved it, so just ordered 3 for Christmas presents while Loch Fyne have another sale on.

Anybody tried any of the Cotswolds Distillery releases and any recommendations? Heading down to the Cotswolds next week and may have a nosey so the gaffer can top up her gin supplies (at least that’s what I’m telling her)

tell me more ? And does it involve a gonk

Springbank cage bottles are those taken from a cask for tasting/testing purposes - all are unique. They generally range from 7 - 19yo and can be any of the 3 brands and any cask type (though bourbon casks are most frequent). They range in price from £55 - £90 dependent on the age of the whisky. They can only be purchased in person from Cadenhead Campbeltown.

I’ve got about 20 cage bottles at the moment - mostly Springbank and Hazelburn as there hasn’t been much Longrow when I’ve visited. All of the bottles I have are in the 13-17yo range with the following cask types: fresh & refill bourbon, refill sherry, fresh & refill port, burgundy and Chardonnay. Port cask Springer is the most sought after amongst cage bottles.

There would have been a new cadenhead cage also this summer if not for covid - they’ll have that in place once all the related restrictions are removed and they get more visitors.
