A McKinsey Report: When will the Pandemic end?

Everyone wants things to go back to normal - there is no shame in wanting that. Whether it’s so he can resume charity work, see relatives or get blind drunk and wake up in his own vomit isn’t particularly relevant - our right to choose how we spend our time is a cornerstone of liberty and freedom.

It’s not if that ‘freedom’ is going to cripple the NHS and the economy.

There’s a difference between wanting normality and what Herbal suggested, which was go back to normal, don’t record COVID deaths, don’t report on them, and his blase attitude that people will die.

It is selfish and ignorant.

I want things to go back to normal, but not at the cost of tens of thousands of lives, and a crippled NHS.

‘selfish and ignorant’ - that’s your opinion, I would suggest that’s a ‘rude and judgemental’ stance to take.
Are you going to study all other deaths in such detail, obsess about numbers and what if scenarios? How much did you have to say about previous ‘bad flu years’? Have you shown as much interest in health crisis that mainly impacted Africa and other continents but didn’t touch Europe? Should we ban peanuts because some people die? Is heavy handed government intervention on any health concern legitimate now? Where exactly do we draw the line between life and Liberty?

It is rude and judgmental to say that his opinion is selfish and ignorant? f***ing hell man, read his post.

Why are you trying to make this about me, or about other pandemics or infectious diseases?

This is about COVID. Nothing else.

Health Minister Helen Whatley worked for McKinsey as did Dido Harding and her MP husband John Penrose.
Small World, Large Pay Day For McKinsey.
£5.1 million for helping to 'define the vision, purpose and narrative' of the replacement for PHE and T&T and other Covid response work.
£1.9 million as Brexit Consultant.
Fancy that? the people’s government is certainly world class at dishing out the people’s money to the right people instead.

scum

Why are you determined to isolate it from other pandemics or diseases? Presumably because there will be incredible hypocrisy and inconsistency?

It doesn’t seem too much to ask for some context, rationale and comparison when unprecedented sacrifice is demanded and basic freedoms are removed.

What a phenomenally ridiculous idea.

You have an incredibly selfish outlook on life. You only want things opening up so you can go out on the piss. Doesn’t matter how many tens of thousands more will die, you just want to get back on the piss.

You’re a complete loon.
You are the loon, calling everyone else a loon when you are so sucked into this plandemic that you can't even see what is really going in. The true covidiot on this board

I reckon because we’re living in the middle of a pandemic, the scale of which we have not seen for a century, after lucky escapes in 2003 and 2009.

Herbal isn’t asking for “context, rationale or comparison” he is quite literally advocating for the idea of returning to normal and just ignoring that COVID is a thing.

I have nothing against “context, rationale or comparison” - just ignorance and selfishness.

Oh do fuck off Robbie. Back on ignore you go.

I can still go in the piss now man. It’s nowt to do with that, it’s about how long they can keep it going if the deaths don’t rise significantly. I know you say they’ll start going up shortly, which will be fair enough, but if they don’t are we just gonna keep this up til the vaccine arrives. Service industry is fucked, and it’s trickling down into engineering now cos you can’t get parts. I’ll take it all back if the deaths do go up mind, but I’ll keep banging this gong until they do. If they do.

Tbf he works in the industry so he has a good idea of what’s going on. But that can also make you blinkered cos it’s surrounding you every day.

Aye plandemic.........
He maybe does, but he spouts nothing but nonsense from the daily mail, bbc etc and in any industry, if you are told something repeatedly you are going to believe it

I still don't get this "herd immunity".

Smallpox, Flu are 2 examples of a disease/virus wiping out millions and since the year dot yet no sign of this herd immunity. Everyone has had the common cold but no immunity. I know the strain changes from year to year but why won't this be the case with C19?

I do wonder that, if by trying to mitigate the effects by going in and out of lockdown, we may end up prolonging the outbreak as the virus won't have a chance to mutate / run it's course.

The missus (no) told me last night that more people died from suicides than Covid last month (I haven't checked).

Flu mutates faster than Covid 19 has shown to so far. If Covid mutates it’s possible those that have had the current strain won’t be immune but hopefully if it does mutate it will weaken.
So far I believe it’s pretty stable and hasn’t mutated much at all.
That’s my understanding anyway could be wrong I’m sure one of the SMBs experts will correct me.

If they find a successful vaccine then it’s possible that they could tweak it as required if the virus mutates much like they do each year with the Flu vaccine.

It doesn't really say anything that I haven't already read on this very forum. I suppose the difference being that McKinsey have made a whopping profit on the back of coming up with fairly obvious conclusions. I'm surprised anyone would give them much credence in the first place considering their record over the past 20 years.
They have a much longer history of incompetence than that!

The article mentions the one thing with little data so far that will slow down their second end scenario - long term health issues for recovered patients. How many are likely to suffer longer term, and are any of those ailments permanent or just temporary?
