It's interesting that you think you know what I'm thinking and which side of the fence I sit on when referees officiate when Sunderland play at home. It also interesting how broad your generalisations are e.g. 'when we were in the Premier League all you heard ...', 'Go back 40 years and that has always been the case ...'There in lies the problem ‘ you have seen many a biased ref at Roker Park and SOL’
I don’t suppose they were biased towards us?
That with respect is complete bollocks unless you can read minds which you can’t, that is just total hearsay.
As far as fans saying refs are biased especially Sunderland fans I find that laughable tbh.
When we were in the premier league all you heard was refs give decisions to big clubs all the time, yet as soon as we were the big club in League one, according to fans on here refs came to SOL to stand up to the big club!!
That’s how much notice you can take from fans, as the Cattermole example you quoted proves, another bollocks statement fans used to come out with.
The respect for refs in Rubgy as opposed to football has nothing to do with VAR and nothing to with consistency of the rules, and everything to do with the culture one sport Rubgy has put in place as opposed to another football.
Go back 40 years at that has always been the case.
Cricket and Rugby fans have always have more respect for officials years and years before decisions were made based of replays.
