Gordon Ramsey's £23 steak and chips

I bought my son 3 sirloin steaks from ASDA. 3 for a tenner.
They were decent steaks.
He likes them medium rare.
He absolutely loved them over the 3 days he had them and he said to me. "you know, dad, I went out with J ( his girlfriend) and paid 25 quid for two steak meals.
I've had these 3 and they beat it hands down."

I’ve eaten at Petrus. It was canny but I wouldn’t go back I don’t think.

He says a variation of this on every kitchen nightmares. It’s the recipe for success. Local and rustic being the most important

I haven't eaten meat since Tony Blair was the PM and liked the story.
It's the kind of thing I imagine my old fella doing and then quietly revelling in not only sorting his kids out but getting a decent deal at the same time

Mind I've just cooked one on the BBQ and it was superb. £5 from Morrissons.

If you got that in a spoons you'd think they'd gone posh and you'd expect to pay around 15 quid so it's all relevant isn't it. Those that can afford to eat at ramsay places will do so and will lap it up.

We prefer a once in a while nice restaurant and will pay 100+ each for top notch scran. I must repeat once in a while tho
