How did the locals take to being locked down mate. Did they follow the guidelines willingly? Or did the government over there give them no choice? I’ve heard they can be pretty tough.

A real mixture to be honest and it probably depends/depended upon your personal situation.
In the Philippines, it's very much a cash economy, even as recently as 2018 only 5% of consumer transactions were paid with a debit or credit card, everything else in cash.
A lot of people live on a day to day, hand to mouth basis so if you don't work you don't get paid. So they were in a position of lockdown but with no money to buy food. So they went out looking for work or food. There were some handouts and food parcels given out but not sure if it was enough tbh.
In the more affluent areas people were following the rules( even though I will get stroppy with someone and tell them to move away if they get too close) and the cases are a lot lower.
During the first lockdown, which was very tough, the police arrested quite a few people for breaking curfew. The lockdown was all non essential shops were closed , so only supermarkets, convenience stores and chemists were open. Some restaurants were open but only for take out or delivery. All public transport was suspended, even taxis. So if you didn't have a car, you had to walk. Curfew was 8pm to 5am.
Now, it's eased up a bit , restaurants and shopping malls have reopened but in the malls you have to wear a face shield as well as a face mask. I was turned away from a supermarket last month when the rules changed , I was only wearing a mask.
Public transport has reopened but you need special permission and a Covid test if you cross the regional borders. Restaurants have reopened but not bars, but the Manila Mackems home Heckell and Jeckell is open by clasifying itself as a restaurant!
Curfew hours are 10pm to 4am now, still not suitable for watching our games yet but hopefully will improve soon.

Meeting went canny thanks. Was discussing a new marketing campaign which was interesting. Pups are fine thanks. No he didn't go to the walk in centre! I'm seeing him on Friday so I'll take him if he hasn't been and he's still bad.

Well said, sir. I feel at a loss at times, and in different directions. First one is if you are in front of me in narrow shop. I see people looking at me and being apologetic about taking a few seconds to choose something. Don't apologise. It's ok. I understand and can wait with a smile. We help each other and understanding goes a long way. Just take your time. It really is ok. Second one is the imbecile one. Think you covered it with SIB brother
Strange day today. Had a pass with a clean ticket. Does not happen very often. Might sound daft, even though I'm chuffed on that two things happened. 1. Got to get something to eat in TK's, Roast beef dinner for £3. Gerrin. First one since lockdown. Asked for a hot beef dip, but had a face mask on. It's all good. 2. Had time to talk to an examiner who is just someone I respect and admire. Time that I value.
Then it turned to shit as license plate left the car at some point. Too late to get a new one until 9.30 tomorrow. Not the end of the world and a bit funny.
