Borthwick coming home

Cracking news. Bowlers will be happy as he is a proper slip catcher, a high order batter and gives us a spin option.

GERRIN!!! Made my year this like!!

I'm not just saying this either, but as of the end of the Notts game I was going to start a thread to discuss next season and what people feel we need. I know there's been a lot of doom and gloom but as I alluded to earlier this week in the Notts thread, I honestly don't think we're too far away from being a very decent side again. Our bowling attack and depth is pretty spot on and when Bancroft returns to open and Borthwick is at 3 we already look far more solid and competitive.

@GordonMuchallNo1Fan tried to PM you marra, but your inbox is full - anyway, GREAT news :D

Welcome home marra ;)

I wouldn't be surprised given recent events marra, but already we look solid enough if we get Bancroft back:

Lees
Bancroft
Borthwick
Bedingham
Harte

From the article:

"Borthwick has averaged 32 in first-class cricket for Surrey, with four centuries."

What we'd give for a number 3 that averages 32
Great news if that happens

Aye, starting to realise in my excitement I've overlooked the fact that it isn't yet a done deal

Cheers, sorry about that.

That's a bit of unexpected news.
He's a cracking fielder. Granted I had my say a while back about "he fucked off, balls to him" attitude from myself, having looked at the state we're in at the moment, I will be pleased to see him back.

Great news everyone knows I'm miserable but I'm one of his biggest fans

Ah, feeling more confident now Marty has received the ‘memo’ :D

Bloody wish my wife liked cricket

Would make my job a lot easier!

Thought you didn't agree with women in cricket mate? ;)

I've got two daughters, the younger one likes cricket but sadly not enough to watch it all day, although she did sit through a couple of ODI's last season with her Nintendo DS.
