Thinking (dangerous) about Behardien ?
At the start of the competition all counties had to name a squad of 16. Can only replace a player due to injury/illness.
Burnham is injured, so was Jones his replacement ? Cameron Steel has been jettisoned so no replacement for him. Wonder if we cannot select him ?
 
275-8 at Close probably constitutes our best performance at the close of play of any day all season, mind I still think we’re miles off par (350-400 IMO on what looks a very flat pitch).

Be good psychologically to get beyond 300 in the morning though and give the bowlers something to bowl at - Rushworth, Carse, Coughlin and Raine is probably the quartet I’d call our best attack. Fully expect them to go beyond our score but you never know, this Notts lineup is in my view one of the strongest batting lineups in all of county cricket at present.

haven't won a single 4 day game since 2018.

Must have spent a fortune on massive recruitment in last 2 seasons with disastrous results. Can't understand how Newell and Moores are still in jobs.

I know the Notts members aren’t happy about it generally, it’s mad to think the players they’ve got and had amongst their ranks (and obviously the money they’ve spent) and TWICE in recent memory they’ve been relegated from Division One.
 
Carse has an average of 25.95 which is better than a lot of our batsmen. Raine is a tidy bowling all-rounder as well.

How bad is Cameron Steel for Jones and Dickson to get a game?

He's shocking. Has he got into two figures yet this season? I'd rather play a middle order batsman up top.

Excellent return by the middle order. However it’s the same shite every game 2 and 3 don’t score any runs. Par is 400. If we get to 300 we will have done well
