Easyjet from Newcastle - stopped ?

Never thought to ask but since she has been going there ever since childhood I can be pretty much sure it is Spain.
I imagine Spain must be pretty routine now, hardly favourite place stuff. We had a gaff up Weardale for a long long time and went every year and while it was enjoyable I can think of better places to go.

Anyone struggled to get their refunds from EJ? The wife rang up on Friday, got straight thru, and processed it there and then. Baggage refund went straight in, expecting flight refund money tomorrow. Thought it would be a lot more hassle.
we got refunds for flights at easter and only just got a refund for a june flight. september flights now been cancelled so will see how long this one takes. when they lifted the quatantine restrictions to portugal we booked with jet2 and i think it's less than what we'll get back from easyjet.
i think easyjet have just written this year off from newcastle and will return again but will want a better deal from the airport for their services, holding them to ransom if you like.

My Christmas flight was officially cancelled yesterday. Rebooked with Jet 2. This virus is causing all sorts of problems isn't it. I'm just hoping when it's all done and dusted Easyjet come back to Newcastle. It's going to be a right pain getting flights over the next couple of years.

It's an ideal case for Durham Tees valley to step in an take some routes - can't remember the last time I flew into Newcastle there's no cheap flights anymore

It would still be a bit of a pain but closer than any other airport. I'm usually, except for the summer, flying on a tight time schedule. It's times and speed more than price for me.

Aye that seems completely wrong to me . We have flight for July 2021 , I know the flight won’t happen now as is from Newcastle but I can’t do anything possibly until well into next year according to that ??
In the same boat m8, have paid a deposit on flights & accommodation, full amount due in Feb, no doubt they'll ask for the full payment then issue a cancellation notice, just going to wait & see what happens , I'm not chucking anymore money at holiday companies/airlines , I've lost confidence in the lot of them.

Maybe they’re planning to get to spring and review the situation. I’m sure the airport won’t want lose such a big name so will probably be trying to renegotiate terms in the meantime. Surely under normal circumstances it’s profitable for EJ to operate out of Newcastle and it’s better for the north east if they do. If the demand is there and the Covid situ has calmed down they might return.

I‘m clutching at straws like, but I’ve got flights to faro booked in may 21. They cost £140 but now the equivalent with jet2 is over £600. I’m not paying that so for now I’d rather they didn’t cancel in the slim hope it might go ahead and if the worst does happen they should be able to send us from Manchester instead.

They are cancelled , you can’t book those flights now . But they not giving you official notification and no means to claim a refund

Im assuming it’s not happening but in no mans land as Easyjet have been pretty sly here with way doing it

Totally agree, we've already moved October flights to Manchester, that's assuming that those won't get cancelled, depending on when Spain come off the quarentine list?🤔
Worst case scenario for next April is change airport to Manchester & book a minibus, that'll be a fun drive back after 5 days in Benidorm on the lash 🤣
