He was just ringing round people begging them to get involved. Theres not a chance hes pulled it all together in that time frame to have had a bid on the table and identified as a preferred bidder with exclusivity.

Aye that's what I was thinking. If he's not going to be involved financially, and so isn't needed for initial funds, then just "drop" him, get the bid through, then bring him back! Unless the people with the money in the bid simply don't want to do that on principle, which is possible I suppose
 
Surely if Donald scuppers this potentially good takeover because of petulance against one individual then that individual can come out after and give details of that at which point the fans should unite more than ever and protest against SD. This would be the second major chance of a takeover ruined by his greed/petulance.

I get that there are principles but surely with MG and supposedly another ex-player/locals involved they be more likely to push MG aside for now to push it through on the basis of 'what's best for the club'.
Do what they need to to push Donald out then bring him back once it's completed.

I guess it depends if we’re being bought out right or whether Donald’s retaining a stake (apologies if we know which it is already).

If it’s the latter the maybe Donald doesn't want him involved at all even after the takeover and is insisting on that as a condition of sale.

I don’t believe for one second that SD would jeopardise a multi million pound deal over some petty grievance. Also as has been said MG simply withdraws and comes back after the deal is done.

Of course he f***ing would. He’s not going to make the money he thinks he should make - despite actively making the club worse - so he’s going to cling on by his fingernails for dear life.

If he fucks this one up, then we should definitely step up the protests. Not sure how, but I am sure the fans groups can come up with suitable ones. We cant let the crooked bastard get away with this. I couldn't give a fuck about being "magesque" because quite honestly it isn't. Its about being passionate about the club we are supposed to support. As a matter of fact, if it falls through, I am hopeful that the consortia come out and tells us why
