Getting/attempting to stop all the pointless PR he's doing.

More easily done with a phone call rather than get involved in it. Rodwell could have easily steered clear of him - David Jones posted a picture of Roker in the morning too but was back in London last night. It’s clear something has been going on yesterday and it’s not only a bit of publicity seeking by Storey.

The club weren't talking to him until his radio stunt yesterday. They are in a period of exclusivity with the other party.

I dont think he had a meeting at the club yeaterday, which makes you think that the club have not been taking his bid seriously. meeting up for a pint and some bait doesn't exactly scream the club have changed tact.

So Rodwell should not have met him too add fuel...

This. There's no way Rodwell would have gone for pint less than an hour after Storey was pictured at that particular boozer.
It's quite possible Rodwell is staying there of course but it seems very coincidental.

If i were him and he alluded to it about the Salary cap, there are ways to get around it, The names of the backers could be drip fed into the press or any media for that matter and nothing could be done by Donald etc...
I think Mr Storey's trip up here yesterday was obviously a roos to get the fans on side and some would say it has worked to a small degree. However, as it appears he is not in pole position in terms of buying the club if he wants to get momentum with the fans he needs to let us know somehow who the backers are whilst trying to adhere to any NDA that are in place.

We don't know Mr Storey at all so as some have said it could be a mag wind up or a publicity stunt but if we were to know he has wealthy backers interested in us that would be a game changer.

Board meeting?

i think he's a bullshitter but if he does come up with his backers names or by another means that are not linked directly to the wheeling and dealing for the purchase , then i'm sure that would calm people down... only time will tell.

Or he met him to ease Storey's concerns and paid him a bit of lip service. Storey seems like the kind of bloke to keep the publicity up and try and get fans on his side to gain backing. Rodwell might think by meeting him and paying some attention, he can keep him quiet for a bit. Rodwell also might have been interested to call Storey's bluff.

We probably wont get to know until the club is moved on.

Aye take your point mate - we don't know much about him but he appears to talk a good game.

Given where we are and the season only 3 weeks away if he is to be taken seriously by the fan base we need to know who his backers are.

Whatever happens we need clarity. Another season in Div 3 for SAFC is not good.

The thing that worries me the most in all of this is that there is a missing piece of the puzzle. It just doesn’t all add up.

If he is doing it for publicity, what does he gain from the publicity? He seemingly doesn’t have a product to sell.

In my (naive) eyes one of 2 things is happening:

1) He hasn’t brought his product to market yet but wants to build a big name and some mystique before launch. Consumers generally are sheep and so if they think everyone else is buying something they buy it too (look at Connor McGregors distinctly average ‘proper 12’ whisky). So he flirts with us and formula 1 and maybe a couple of other ventures so that everybody has heard of his company and think it’s a big player in the industry, and then when he finally launches it, everyone has heard of it and is curious to try it. This theory would leave a HUGE question mark as to where the money to do all of this has come from still.

2) He genuinely is interested in buying us and his Where’s Willy Magical Mystery Tour was all a ploy to get us to drive the price down for him. In his radio interview he dropped in a line with all the finesse of a baby hippopotamus about “people with no footballing interest leaching from the club” having tried unsuccessfully to allude to the current incumbents being bad for the club, and kept trying to tickle our balls with sweet-nothings about 4 very wealthy investors over and over again. He is trying to get us so worked up and desperate for his deal that we turn nasty on Donald and drive him to sell whilst wily Willy holds firm on a below asking price offer hoping Donald gives up and cashes out.

Like I said, something here just doesn’t add up.

I think its much more likely rodwell and jones were up for a board meeting. They heard that storey was in the area and decided to, despite being under an apparent NDA, give an interview. Rodwell has probably gone to tell him to pack it in attacking the clubs shareholders and creditors.
Storey was not talking like a man who felt he was in first position, he was trying to convince donald and the fans his bid was better.
I also think given how close Barnes is to Donald, the fact Barnes tried to trip Storey up multiple times in the interview suggests he is not being taken seriously.

3) He’s a narcissist.

Forgetting who currently owns us. We need to give new people a chance, IMO of course...
I'm incredibly skeptical given his part business ventures and associations with sport and the way we've been ran for the last two years. Too many parallels. If he buys us and I'm proven wrong then happy days and I'll say I was wrong. But I think it'd be a disaster.

As chancers go, Donald is not in the same league as this guy.
Never mind what he says. The few actual facts about him suggest he's nothing but bad news.
I really hope we stay clear.
Although I can't think he actually has any substantial backers.

I don’t disagree with your scepticism but what wealthy backers did Donald have like? At the start it was just him and methven and I think most of us were sceptical of sartori a actual wealth when taking his relatives out of the equation.
Sartori was put forward as a wealthy backer and was clearly brought in because of the links he has. Then there was everything with FPP, the "investment". He also banged on and on about how much money he had, only for it to never materialise. We've been fed too many lies by people who can talk a good game but have had nothing to back it up. This bloke, with what we know, has nothing other than his words and promises and we've been ran on them for two years by some other shitehawk and we're in our worst ever position. If I'm wrong, great, but I think he's just another dodgy dealer looking for some PR and a quick payday - I can't believe anyone would think anything other than that given the experiences of the last two years.
