Fair doos. Forgotten that completely. He was a boy lost v charlton.

others disagree, so be it.

Came on as captain, Donald was all over it iirc saying a 16 year old local lad as captain - he’s our future etc.

Clive Clarke. Came on as a sub after about half hour and gave away a penalty after 10 minutes. Didn’t get much better for him here either

Looking back I would say Clarke Salter has to be up there because they were all shockers whichever game you chose in his case.

Angeleris full debut in the FA cup against Notts county. Got pasted by Jamal Campbell-Ryce (I think).

I’ve been advised it was v wolves which I cant remember. I can remember v charlton and imo, he was over ran and didn’t know what was going on. As was onien

only debut games mind. Others disagree, so be it

I thought he was canny against Chartlon. I agree re: O'Nein, but I wouldn't say it was a shocking debut.

I thought he looked okay vs Charlton, whereas O'Nien looked like an over eager puppy. More predictably, the game turned when Donald Love got injured about 25 mins in and we switched things a bit and put Oviedo on.

This fella takes some beating:

Sunderland. On 26 September 1957, Charlie Hurley arrived at Roker Park to begin a career that would span 12 seasons and 402 appearances. Hurley's Sunderland career had a disastrous start; a 7–0 rout by Blackpool, coupled with him scoring an own goal on his debut, which was quickly followed by a 6–0 defeat by Burnley.

Imagine the reaction if this board had been around then. He'd have been written off as rubbish and wouldn't have lasted the season

Was it Paul William's Man Utd away - I'm sure it was his debut - Denis Smith Bigged him up and Lee Sharpe destroyed him in the space of about 3 minutes
Winner the lads whole career only last 45 mins absolutely tortured
Grigg, missed an open goal and never looked back.
Blackpool? Wasn’t his debut if so, Oxford away was he debut, no better he never touched the ball all game
