If it was April or May I’d probably have felt the same, but I don’t think the pitch has really been a massive factor.
Bloody hell. Surely it’s a different gadgey![]()

Our of contract at end of season and refusing to sign new one?Not sure what is going on with Scott Steel ? He is playing for Durham City, and, with all due respect, they are in the 3rd tier of North East Cricket. Also, he was batting at 6 for them last Saturday.
Cannot believe that the coaches are happy with that.

Looking forward to seeing steel in the t20s
You might be waiting longer than it takes to get our batting line up outI know mate, I saw that and looked at his ‘history’ too - which confirms it’s him.
Just can’t comprehend that he would be so low down in the order for a third tier club side.
Unless he’s wanting out of the professional game I see no reason why he’d ‘refuse’ to sign.
Looking forward to you answering my question on the JB thread![]()

Have a good nightWhy? Frightened?
Pretty sure Scott Steel came through the Durham City junior teams system and played 1st team before Academy. The captain of Durham City is Callum Steel who maybe is a brother or family member? Think his dad might be ex Durham City and East Rainton player Ian. Although I recall probably on here some thought it was ex City , South Hetton all rounder Bobby
A few years ago when he was at Burnopfield he smashed us all over hitting 100* off about 50 balls.Pretty sure Scott Steel came through the Durham City junior teams system and played 1st team before Academy. If you can't beat us you might as well pack up. Great win against Lancashire but reverted to type since. Pretty sure we'll be playing minor counties in a few years time. Not sustainable and when we do decide to make a signing the money is usually wasted on a long gone has been. Doesn't help that Nottinghamshire use us as an academy and nick all our decent players as soon as they show a bit of promise.
According to the website the game was on July 15-18 !! No mention of warm up T20 game at Tynemouth. The media/PR of the club is Minor Counties at best !!Absolutely ridiculous not to give some others a chance.

The club made a statement saying they would be sending a strong side.Pointless exercise otherwiseIt is an academy friendly, not a first team T20 warm up.
