said it before that willey is under used as a batsman. he is playing his way into a strong chance of being in the first team here

280 for 7. willey 51 off 38 3 x 4s. 3 x 6s

too many already imo

Agreed. Given Plunkett is out from the World Cup XI of the next candidates - Moeen, Dawson, Tom Curran, Willey etc. I think you'd have to favour Willey. Might mean a bit of a rejig of bowling resources given Archer/Wood open the bowling normally.

watching this and it appeared slow and laboured when morgan went and we were 14 for 2 early

times gone by that would be an amazing score to set. personally if ireland get to within 50 i will be surprised

I can’t see Willey being successful in India mind

His record in Asia is okay, he got 3 early wickets in 3 opening bursts in India. I think having a bit of variation and getting new ball wickets whilst it's not an absolute road is increasingly important. But yea wouldn't fancy any bowler in those conditions really.

Forgot Woakes & Archer opened towards the end of the World Cup of course.

Really good from the tail there. Thought we might squeeze up to 270 all out but to just about bat the overs and get to nigh on 330 is excellent
