This mental health thing is incredible.

What about the mental health of those people their new owners actually torture for speaking out?

What about the mental health of those in Yemen needlessly bombed to fcuk by the saudis?

What about the mental health of the family of a journalist murdered and purportedly dissolved in acid?

What about the mental health of the family whose kids have allegedly been kidnapped by the mags potential new owner?

They have lost all sense of rationality. This isn't an odd one. Some of these "mental health" posts by mags have been liked hundreds of times.

Maybe Chi and the Jarrow MP would like to offer their views on this.

Love them to get bombarded by the people opposing the takeover (they've indicated they aren't going away if it happens) ... those spelks from sitting on the fence will be quite painful as Labour MPs won't want public criticism from Amnesty International

Totally agree. Wraith was one of the first to post in retaliation at Sunderland fans telling him to have a word with himself. Pathetic.

I’m finding it disturbing how they are linking it to themselves. It’s proper weird isn’t it. Like they’ve said it that much they believe it.

The local writers need to have a good look at themselves as they have created hysteria by writing article after article based on pure conjecture. I am referring to Ryder and Kennedy. Fair enough they are both miles away from being a writer for the nationals so essentially they just need to drive traffic. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryder’s work is used in school for kids to spot punctuation and grammar errors.

Aye this issue is inexorably linked to the piracy issue. If the PL are satisifed that PIF and KSA are sufficiently disparate then there could be progress, but until then it's stuck in mud.

Mind this is just what's playing out in public. The basics for me come down to this;
PL want to protect their product from piracy. KSA have been pirating. PL will want to be satisfied that their product is protected. Until they are, they won't approve the deal. fwiw I'm more confident that there's more in favour of the deal happening than opposing it and with every passing day BEIN's influence will wane.

Any Newcastle fan getting in a tizz at the PL, or the media, or Qatar are missing the point. The reason this bid is taking ages is because the people trying to buy NUFC are an extension of a government who sanctioned piracy of the very product they're trying to buy into. The bid should have anticipated the various hurdles and how difficult they'd be to get over. I'm not 100% sure on the veracity, but I've been told the Man City bid introduced new owners (Al Fahim) and Mansour et al were added later after the groundwork was prepared. Would have seemed sensible to have the Reubens (and Staveley) buy the club, then sell the majority of their shares to PIF after the WTO, Select Committees, BEIN issues were resolved.

Regarding the bit of your post I have placed in bold:
BEIN are clearly involved in the process and my question is why?
The only thing the Premier league will say on the topic is that it is a confidential process between the Buyer the seller and the EPL, which should mean the Premier League should be telling BEIN exactly what they should be telling me which is sweet fuck all.

Not sure why BEIN are being kept in the loop at all.

Who says they are? The takeover is no secret, BEIn are unlikely to be involved in the fine details, but they have every right to be pissed off at it.

The country that undermines their product through piracy wants to buy a club that will get money from their product.

The Premier Leagues stance on this isnt just about BeIn though. If they bend to the Saudis and ammend the rules for them, it sets a precendent.

Protection of digital rights is the biggest risk facing the PL.What if some non WTO nation decided to do the same as Saudi and transmit illegally? The big hope was that amazon, Netflix , Disney etc. step in and pay over the 5bn from last time. They still may but the contract will be watertight from their perspective. This is the Premier Leagues Napster/limewire.

Add the fact that revenues from pubs and clubs will fall (as people can go to those venues and watch the game on their phones). Add in that many people simply wont pay Amazon, BT and Sky... but will pick what suits them... The PL needs to be careful about its TV rights because if they start losing revenue, from them they cant pay the clubs as much and the bubble starts to burst.

It isnt just BeIn watching how the PL handles this. It will be every company who has supposedly "exclusive" rights. Thats everyone from TV packages to "official sponsors"

Thie consequences of upsetting sponsors is huge
