There’s plenty of clubs facing longer stints though. Why should SAFC be any different ? We all know that no club has a right to play at a certain level. To be fair, Donald is taking the flak but it’s Short who put you where you are now, not SD.
Wasn't there an all time league table kicking about which had us about 12th? (I could be wrong but I think we were high up). We certainly shouldn't be where we going off past history, just like Newcastle shouldn't ever be down here either. We have got every right to be "throwing our toys out of the pram" imo

I don't believe we have the right to play anywhere but where we deserve to be, which is here but we've just wasted £60m in parachute money and the biggest crowds and budget the league has ever seen and gone backwards.

I wouldn’t defend Donald’s tenure, only that imo he’s not as bad ( yet ) than his predecessor.
My point though in this is that there is no difference or right to respective sets of fans wanting a change of ownership.

You have full right to want to change of ownership, as does any sets of fans if that what they think is best for their club.
My initial point, which I maintain, is challenging the hypocritical post Saying that NUFC fans not going back is ‘throwing toys out’ when that’s likewise exactly what some SAFC fans are doing.

Noticeable section in the BBC article - related to people who actually are having their mental health affected, and a lot more besides:

in an appeal to Newcastle fans, Lina said: "I want to tell them that their everyday life is very different from ours. My sister is in prison just because one of her demands was for women to drive.

"Saudi Arabia will be embarrassed if at every game they have protests. Whatever the decision is at the end, fans have leverage, they can ask for the detainees to be released."

Areej al-Sadhan, whose brother Abdulrahman is a humanitarian worker for Red Crescent and has been in prison for more than two years, said hundreds of families like theirs were affected.

She added: "We cannot stay silent about it. We are actually risking our own lives by speaking out about the situation.

"There are things money cannot buy and fans seriously need to look deeper at the Saudi practices in the kingdom."

Should be a big response to this appeal, you would think, especially from the toon’s band of determined mental health advocates.

Tbh local rivalry has nothing to do with it. We've seen our club being ran into the ground and probably close to administration (whilst being stuck in the 3rd division) while yes things might not seem great for Newcastle, they could be a hell of a lot worse. It's all about perspective, I'd be saying this if I was a Bolton, Bury, Coventry, Blackpool etc fan also

Definitely they could be worse, no matter who you are there’s a club less fortunate. Personally I just don’t agree with the mentality of ‘we deserve new owners more than you’.

Has Ashley had anyone beheaded yet?
Desperate, moronic Mags wanting The Saudi’s, Bin Salman and co. yet mega critical of their current owner.
#cans. Pathetic hypocrites.

They want ANYONE over Ashley. Theyve literally fallen for their own hype that he is some kind of cancer on not just their club, but football and the world in general.

Is he a good egg and top man? No. He is clearly not... but as a club owner? Hes better than the vast majority.

NET SPEND,!

So what’s holding up the deal is who’s going to be the new chairman and not the piracy or human rights stuff? Deals going to go through I think 😣

My guess is the bid is deliberately confusing as to who would have control because the bidders don't think the PL would like the actual answer. Which would square with things like piracy being an issue. So the bid tries to make it look like the Saudis will have no control over the actual running of the club, and the PL aren't buying it.
