Third Test - England v West Indies (Old Trafford)

all the morning wickets available now. Very handy for those of us, not getting the live stuff yet

Case in point on immediate no ball calls and fairness. Both batsman were way out of the crease and standing still when Woakes caught that ball. The umpires have stopped calling no balls unless blatant, so in a game of fine margins should Woakes not have shied at the stumps in case the catch went upstairs for a no ball? It would look ridiculous of course but no more than the catch being called back and everyone having to go again. In that case the unfairness would be on the fielding side as they would have had no warning that they had a run out chance and the batsman would have been more alert.

I know these are theoretical and nitpicking points but could happen

who would be the 4th seamer then
Broad
Jimmy
And archer positions are cemented.

but from wood, Woakes and Curran who are in the current squad who would you for out of these

with wood you get pace of most pitches
Woakes can swing the ball not as quick but he can do something with the bal
Curran perfect for overcast English conditions

still undecided myself but for me wood is slightly ahead at the moment.

Gonna take the boy for a quick nine, back for Sunday lunch, a bottle of red and hopefully getting close to us declaring.

I’m now back to watch the batting. I do hope these two try and keep the rate above three. No need to dig in, with this position. Free runs to be had as I don’t think the windies will chase 200 in the fourth innings

There's 2 and a half days left yet. They can leave as much as they want and just try to improve their averages if that is what they feel like doing. That is what openers are supposed to be there for after all.

Let the lower order smash and grab.

Surprised Stokes didn't come out. We can only need 150 tops.

There isn't two and a half days. Forecast to rain all day tomorrow.

Plenty time to play yet. If we bat until lunch tomorrow and give them a big total to chase then a day and a half is a long time to dig in. Hell if we bat until tea then there's still time left to get a result. Unless of course there is any rain...

OK then ignore me! Still, let sibley and burns take the shine off and then we can swing for the rest of the day.

It was forecast to rain all day yesterday, can't play the forecast too much. Score at 3 per over and we're 350 ahead

I'm sure I heard on of the comms yesterday saying that the ICC have confirmed this will be introduced.

Not sure why it can't be in already though, I could sit watching a camera and press a button if it's a no ball or not.
Is it maybe the fact that if it's tight like that and doesn't get called it could open up a can of worms.

So they've got to come up with a more fool proof system.

For the obvious ones it should be easy.

The forecast is abysmal, yesterday's forecast wasn't anywhere near as bad this time on Friday.

We don't need a 350 lead to win this match.
We probably don't but I'm saying we should be there playing normally by the end of the day with at least a full day on Tuesday.
