Sounds like Broad, Anderson and Woakes all playing
suggestion that they may have dropped a batsman. Which can only be Crawley (and move Root to 3), Pope (which would be harsh) or Buttler (and have Pope keep, which is probably stupid).

What was the decision? One of the batsman were always going to miss out if Stokes couldn't bowl
Play 4 seamers and no spinner? Or play 3 seamers and Bess. Most teams these days survive with 4 plus a part timer (like Root), especially if the weather is iffy and they will get rest time

Great to see Jos' strong recent form rewarded with a promotion.
I think Woakes is more of a 7 than Buttler is a 6 (if that makes sense)
I'd have dropped Buttler and given Pope the gloves as a one off
or have 3 seamers, win the toss and bowl. Lot of pressure on Gabriel, Roach and Holder. Gabriel looked fucked at the end of the last test

Not sure on the second, it would be messing Pope around again, and he’s such a talent. Also not sure it would be a one off, the bowler issue isn’t going away by the time of the Pakistan series
As much as it pains me, if we have a keeper batting 6 then we need to hope Bairstow sorts out his technical issues. He’s the best bat out of our keepers in reality. Shoot me now

Bairstow is by far the best keeper we have not sure what’s happened to him but like he forgot to play cricket in test.
Aye and it’s a shame as he’s probably the third best WK in the country.
