Why we need Spearing when we've got exactly that type of CM already is head scratching!... The only reason to sign another CM would be if a big, atheltic, powerful lad became available, not someone to keep Grant company on the bench.

Its always been the Sunderland way to have a shit load of bang average players in one position, whilst being criminally short in others.

Says all we need to know about our scouting - when the season ended we should have got rid of the whole recruitment team and started again.

I can only think that one or two of our current midfield are moving on, it shouldn't even be a position we should be looking in otherwise.
 
I don’t think Barnsey has a clue. Just can’t see this signing. Reckon Flanagan might stay as a squad player though. Not everyone’s cup of tea. But I reckon we could do worse.
 
One day i would like to see Barnsey and others asking difficult questions of those that run the club.They should be asking anyone who has any responsibility at OUR CLUB what the hell is going on.?The fanbase need answers, people need to be held to task and contact needs to be made.For once this really is a time to "hound" those at the top for answers....over to you Barnsey et al

You’ll be waiting a long time. Barnes never said boo to a goose as the club nosedived into third tier oblivion, never questioned the disgraceful, hideous management of Moyes or the actions of other people who contributed massively to our demise like Byrne and Bain. As for criticism or constructive questioning of the current clowns running the club, not a word.

Absolutely weak as piss. Like most of the North East press who’ve said sweet FA about the demise of Sunderland A.F.C..

Why would a journalist bite the hand that feeds him ffs? Maybe for a fanzine but a local BBC journo isnt going to go all Donal McIntyre man, get real.

I'd love then to anarl, but it's never going to happen. Absolute cowardice from so called journalists. They know they'll probably get banned from the ground by methven, at which point they'd have to actually do some proper work and stand for something. Too easy when your on the gravy train. Said it for years. That's why I stopped listening to Total Sport apart from the odd occasion. It's weak as piss and nauseating. Probably the best platform safc fans have for representing how we feel and the disgraceful performance of the club over the last few years, and they say fuck all. I'd love to give Barnes a peice of my mind, the greedy, lazy, cowardly twat. A total failure at his job. He is probably the one person in the NE who could, and should, shout the loudest and he says fuck all.

His match commentary is awful as well. Doesn't even commentate on the game. Fuck him. Hope he's reading this
