UK to impose sanctions on Saudi Arabia

The biggest alarm bells for their takeover has to be Manquillo and Carroll being awarded new contracts. They’ve also extended Marty Longstaff contract. You can only increase your wage bill by 10% under FFP, so presuming ASM gets a hefty pay increase, they already won’t be too far off that, still got championship players on their books.
???

or signed by now...it won't and can't go through

The uk government is putting significant distance between itself and the Saudis, arms deals signed off by Boris and Liam Fox have since been ruled to be illegal and will have played a role in this decision too.

This is now the get out the Premier League have been waiting for, in blocking the deal they will simply be following the path now cleared for them by Boris Johnson and The foreign secretary and therefore beyond reproach.

It will like.....or they'll pull the pin on defence spending, should have been kicked into touch when it hit the mat.....Raab's tough guy bollocks clears the way....."we've addressed the baddies"......watch....

Aye.

Though that would imply that the Premier League's great and good think in a straight line. But they don't. They will already be counting the hidden wonga, and for now are just looking for a way to say one thing and mean another.

But anyway, as I've said before here and elsewhere, I'd genuinely rather we were in the Conference than being used as cheerleading veneer for the most barbaric country in the world.

Re your final paragraph it is quite astonishing how that windbag mp from the west end Chi or whatever is prepared to turn a blind eye. She wasted valuable parliamentary time to stand there screaming and shouting about Ashley, but those whose daily chores include murder, genocide, exploitation, hatred of women, homophobia, beheading, crucifixions, stonings and the occasional dismemberment are welcomed with open arms.

They're targetting individuals. It's wildly different, and a bit like the Saudi's claims it wasn't them helping beoutQ, but them darn 'rogue agents'.

The takeover goes through if they admit a degree fo responsibility and fix it. If they don't it'll drag on and on. The Premier League knows they've got them over a barrel and Saudi are desperately trying to diversify revenue streams.
