In what way?

The foreign secretary will name several dozen people who will have their assets in the UK frozen and who will also be banned from entering the country.

The first list is expected to include individuals from Russia, Saudi Arabia and North Korea but not, as yet, China.

Ah right, so your thinking the government will sanction Saudi Arabia preventing a take over?

I think its just another piece of post Brexit legislation but we'll see.

Essentially the sanctions are against Saudi Arabia individuals or organisations. These are usually done to make other states/countries change their behavior in order to allow them to invest in their economy Inc. trade deals etc. I would assume if any Saudi individuals or organisations are involved with the Newcastle takeover are named it’s difficult to see how they will allow them to buy a British football club or invest in the premier league (buying tv rights). This is obviously aimed at human rights but the piracy only adds to the problems.

This also sounds specific to MBS who chairs the PIF who are trying to buy the mags.

"Future targets of the regime may include those who commit unlawful killings perpetrated against journalists and media workers, or activity motivated on the grounds of religion or belief," they said.

They're not going to sanction someone that spends billions on arms and is invited to visit The Queen, man.

14 weeks. No red flags 😂😂😂
I know it's going on way to long and I know the premier league might knock it back but fancy thinking the UK government is going to impose sanctions on the Saudi Royal family to prevent them and the Saudi state from investing in UK business.
That's desperation for you I suppose, people will cling to anything.

I am not saying they will at all. I am simply looking at it and finding it difficult to see how the Saudi state or royal family are not involved in human rights abuses. Personally I don’t think it will have any impact. In terms of ‘bricking it’ that doesn’t apply to myself as this will only mean you spend more than Ashley did. Another man city, Chelsea. Don’t see it. More like Everton or wolves.

I agree with everything you have said
