I find the whole Benitez thing a little weird.

You often see a group of of fans getting stick for calling for a managers blood, for hounding them out but until this forum I don't think I have ever heard a group of fans getting stick for saying we like the manager we have, we are happy with him and want him to say.
I don't get why it gets under Sunderland fans skin that we were happy with our manager.
It gets under your skin so much so that you are practically rooting for us to win because you want Bruce to win more games.

I hope Bruce wins more games as well, feels odd you lot wanting the same.
😂😂😂😂

Fuck me this is a grown man, a year later still upset wor Rafa fucked them off.

Mental bastards

Rats mate. Should be chased from this forum.
Benitez get's more mention on here by you lot than anywhere else. You've sunderland fans literally happy that Newcastle won, simply because they mistakenly believe it 'proves' Benitez isn't as good as Steve Bruce. It's f***ing weird behaviour. In my life I've not wanted you lot to do well, yet here we are in 2020 and lifelong sunderland fans are happy to see Newcastle possibly finish in the top half of the Premier League table.

How downtrodden are those that suggest that Benitez should have signed any god-awful contract that was put in front of him? Zero pride and self-worth.

Totally agree with that. In terms of fitness and sharpness we seem to have benefited from the break rather than suffered for it. Credit for that has to go to Bruce and the players.

Re: Bruce long term, and for the sake of argument say the takeover doesn't happen. Bruce's management at his previous clubs has been one of diminishing returns. I can't see how that changes. We've already seen our defensive strength deteriorate in this season and while our football has been more aesthetically pleasing, we've not actually created more chances this season per game than we did last and we've given up more chances. We haven't scored as many per game and we've conceded more. In short, this isn't sustainable.

We've been over this so many times Binxy. The money wasn't the only factor. He didn't turn down the offer from NUFC purely because he could get more money in China. That's a misrepresentation of the issues because you, for whatever reason, want to paint Benitez as a mercenary .

Fixed it for you.

Bless. You actually believe that as well.
C'mon Toons

You have some imagination there. Easy to see why you thought Rafa loved you

Crazy the fuckers

You've misunderstood, he didn't reject the Newcastle contract because of the money offered. I've no doubt that money was the chief reason he went to China.

He agreed to go to China well before iirc, it was all about money from the outset. You actually believe his little love letter as well, don't you?
Don't worry, I'm sure the tooth fairy will leave a few coins under your pillow.

Where do you get your confidence that he agreed to go to China well before? More likely to believe Benitez that twice court-proven liar Ashley.

He was away with a couple of days of his contract finishing.
Any idea how long it takes for a working Visa for China? I'll give you a clue, it's more than couple of days.
It was also reported in several publications at the time.

It was reported after the fact, that both the club and Benitez knew they couldn't come to an agreement well before the end of his contract. It's reported 'that he was offered a one-year contract and £50m transfer budget, but, crucially, Ashley wanted him to have less control over signings. '

Make no mistake. Not one genuine SAFC fan wants to see Newcastle win, draw or even get a f***ing corner.
The fact that Newcastle are being more successful under Bruce than Benitez does not cause joy for any genuine SAFC fan. We’d prefer you were relegated and were chucking toys out of the pram about how bad Ashley and Bruce are and how marvellous Rafa is in comparison.
The unfortunate reality for both sets of fans is that Bruce is set to record more points than Rafa ever did in a PL season with NUFC. Our bewilderment comes from the fact that none of you will accept Rafa for what he is - a well past his sell by date charlatan who blamed everyone but himself for his own team’s results.

You really will believe anything his camp spin won't you?
Oh well, I'll leave you to put your Rafa duvet on the line. Apparently it's not going to rain today.

No, and I’ll happily donate the stake (which I sent to him in August/September) to charity.

I’ll hold my hands up.
Holding your hands up must be difficult with your fat, snidey arms?
He was offered a contract and turned it down for more money in China.
Haway mate, it was for footballing reasons, or was it a project? 😂

He mugged them right off and they still want him back 😂
