You were holding court on here throughout the back end of 2019 telling absolutely anyone who would listen how he wouldnt stay ahead of the points target much longer and we'd all have to shut up then.

44 points got 10th that season. Sheffield United in 10th have that already with 7 games to go,as do Everton in 11th with 6 to go.
He was also saying it in August ;)

Should have been 5 here. Is that bet shill on bruce getting more points than Benitez?
I know the bet I took on above to shut him up is still on ;)

I've kept my gob shut even though Bruce has been ahead on points for most games now. Seeing as he's letting his mouth go again I'll pipe up rather than watch the tit for tat  They could still fuck it up and it could depend on if they beat West Ham in their next game. If they do win then 1 point from the last 5 should be doable, possibly Brighton or Watford. I'm past the point of caring if I win as I'm now just laughing at Bruce doing better than Benitez points wise at this and most of the season and that's it's actually killing the Mags inside given the way they went on when he came in :lol:

Right, so £45m (I’ll agree with Robson’s valuation) in and ~£56m out.

~£11m deficit from a much lower return from the two. Bruce, eh...

And no, I don’t care where the goals come from but you specifically brought up us losing our forwards.

Much lower return.....

Bruce now needs 3 points from the last 6 games to match Rafa's best ever total at the mags despite having both of their goalscorers leave in the summer to be replaced by joelinton.

I always said I’ll donate the money (which you already have had since that time) to charity.

As I said, it may depend on the West Ham result but it's been interesting to watch their points through the season. They've just beaten Chelsea so if they beat you then 4 points from the remaining 5. That may be hard given you've got Man City A, Spurs H and Liverpool H in 3 games so that leaves the 2 away games to Brighton and Watford to get some extra points. You may still get your £50 back and I end up paying it instead but it will have been worth it

I think your money is safe tbf. We’ll win on Sunday.

I dunno as you should have beaten Villa but let them equalise and you were unbelievable shite against Man City. Bournemouth were terrible tonight and allowed you to play. West Ham are better than those 2 teams so may not allow the time/space for you to play and that's where you struggle. They will be boosted by that win tonight even after getting VAR'd anarl.

Either way it's going to be an interesting game and run in

Don't think we 'let' Villa equalise. They equalised themselves. Header from a corner, and it went in. We didn't 'let' them do it. They did it for themselves.

I’ll give Bruce a modicum if credit but fuck me we’ve been massive lucky in a number of games. Tonight obviously not one of them.

I’m happy we’ve won though, moreso for you though that you’re straight on here to push your Bruce > Benitez cause. Fair play.
And you're straight on here............. fuck me, the irony barometer has just went through the roof. Fuck off.
Shock as someone who has greater resources at his disposal than his predecessor does better.

Yes, we did.
Paaaaahhaaaaaaaaaaaa . Worranakka. Thought Ashley spent nowt.

Here’s you using net spend in as a negative.

And another

I could ask the same tbh.
Baffles me why you are bringing it into the discussion then.

Why are you missing the Saint Maximin signing out, btw?

Of course it’s relevant imo but Bruce has spent more than we brought in on forwards and the goalscoring return from them has been less. That’s on him.
As is the position your teams in, all down to Bruce. 3 more points and Rafas best is ,hmmm well not good enough is it?

i already agreed with that point.

I’d say the style of play was equally important than the coach(Moyes got the best out of players once).
I know Benitez is often criticised for his man-management, so that could have been a factor(equally he seemingly got the best out of Townsend).

Thauvin had left before Benitez arrived. I was at what I think was his last match - away to Watford in the cup. He put in as poor a performance as you could imagine. While he was bereft of confidence, his lack of effort and what looked like ability soon had him getting dogs abuse from some in the away end. He bottled one challenge - I think that was highlighted on MOTD. I’m not one for booing players or getting on their backs but it was hard to have sympathy for him that day. One of those things, I don’t think he wanted to be there and the team was in a downward spiral. He’s done well since so fair play to him.
