10k renewed

shirley any potential investor will have enough about them to see how the owner/fan relationship sours easily and quickly. Ellis was feted by most for a bit, as were Stewie and Charlie. Except the ones who just knew, obviously. Nobody with any feeling or affiliation for, or with, the club would risk it IMO. Those with funds and a bit of general interest would likely look elsewhere for an easier ride. The things some fans view as positives such as (potential?) fan base, (potential?) loyalty could be drawbacks for someone looking in from outside. Far better to risk less at a club who don’t think they’re still big fish and don’t have too many expectations. What people are saying now about the current mob is what people said about Ellis and what people said about Murray. Only SNQ and by association the Irish mob got off relatively lightly.

TLDR: loads of people say ‘I’m not going back while xxxxxx is in charge‘ & nowt changes.
Give over man. Sunderland fans have been remarkably patient with our owners bearing in mind the absolute shite we have been served up.

This owner has removed an obligation to pay a 20 million pound debt back to the club, had actively sold off every sellable asset from the youth teams greatly hindering our longer term development, has continually fed the support half truth after half truth, and slowly weakened the first team.to the extent it cant make the league 1 play offs.

They have been called out be numerous journalists and ex pro's saying they need to go.

Yet here we are having a pop at the support.

Millions are also stupid enough to never change their mortgage or their energy suppliers. Its called 'inertia'. Cancelling involved doing something and that's too much trouble for a percentage.

I really resent this, weighing up everything I decided, along with many others to put my money into the club and being in a position to support the players when they pull that red and white shirt on again when they take to the pitch.

Bastards have took DD's for 3 season tickets from my account despite emailing the ticket office and cancelling my DD's through the bank. They've set them up under a new name

I'll be recalling the payments tomorrow and would urge anyone else who's been fleeced by these lot to do the same..

Looking at the financial implications of this numbers.

If the average season ticket (inc adults and concessions) is £250 (that's an educated guess) then 10,000 season cards is £2.5m income including VAT. The refunds they owe out (assuming everyone claims) at those numbers would be roughly £780k so around £1.75m give or take income. Opposed to £6m if 24k were sold at an average of £250.

Saddest thing about this apart from it being the lowest moment in our history, is people giving it the ‘scabs’ crack. It’s a personal choice and fellow season card holders should be able to respect each other’s decision regardless of what they chose to do without creating more divides. I think we can safely all agree we need and want new owners..

Twenty million hole in the books, assets being stripped and now fans staying away. Any advantage we had over others at this level being flattened.

And all because some chancers thought we were nailed on to bounce straight back and make them a nice profit.

You've gotta laugh

Spot on. I haven't renewed yet, i might do later and I might not, but if people have then that's up to them and they don't deserve the "scabs" crack. If we knew for certain that starving Donald of cash would guarantee a positive outcome then that's one thing. Currently, however, we have no way of knowing. It might force him to go to FPP, or they might not want us. If they don't he might end up having to put us into administration. Or he might have to sell us to the first chancer who comes along who might even be worse. We all (well, the vast majority) hope he fucks off, and want him to find a much better owner, but no one knows which course of action will be best for the club. Until that becomes clear no one should be getting criticised for putting money into their club. Just as no one should be considered somehow less of a fan for deciding not to.

Having paid in full for 3 seats in March I’m now a bit torn with my next move. Reading the comments on here for and against renewing has really thrown a spanner in the works now. Ask me how I was Feeling a week or two ago, I won’t lie I was furious and requested my refunds but now I have calmed down a bit and thought things through a little I’m finding it a bit hard to just walk away and turn my back on the club,(not the owners) Yesterday I received an email from the ticket office offering me two choices, a full refund or keep my seats now there’s a pro rata refund/stream option in place, all this completely avoidable had the club acted correctly at the time. What a mess this club is in and and at worse time than ever to have division with the fans, it’s about time someone from up the top, held up their hands and said we got it wrong, let’s sort this mess out.

Hope this helps mate I’ve renewed mine and the bairns season cards even tho the bairns can’t make every game. I renewed more for the binding Time with my kids than anything else

I can only imagine United or Liverpool selling the numbers we have in the third division during a pandemic and a lot of the country furloughed. It's fabulous support!

Disappointing that so many are turning their back on the club in the darkest of times. It’s this 10k who should be guaranteed a cup final ticket for life.
They've had it turned for them. Some can follow blindly and there isn't nothing wrong with that. Some will stay away as they feel its the best way to force change, what they see is the best way forward. The fans, attending or non attending, aren't the problem here

Putting money towards a corrupt regime of tories, liars and bumbling idiots

in your opinion of course.

also not sure why political preference comes into it either???

But yet people think that it’s a great idea to make them more financially unstable. In my opinion you support the club not the owners and in these strange pandemic times they have never needed the support more. They’ve got a basil items no income coming in and people are demanding money back (season card refunds) that was probably spent last year as nobody could have predicted this pandemic. I’m one of the 10,000 That have renewed and I’ve also told them to keep my refund from this year. I’m fully aware that financially I’m more fortunate than some others so that’s my choice but there are people now being called scabs and Judas for a differing opinion. Embarrassing to be fair.

I can’t believe 10k have renewed tbh under this regime, must be mad but it’s blind loyalty and something that he’s taken for granted! If they’d have came out with a statement saying that there will be changes and investment in the academy and scouting/recruitment departments as well as putting a team together to give it a good go the upcoming season you’ll have had almost everyone from last season cards renewing!
