Unexpected chip shop stories

My brother organises the ride to the sun , which is an overnight ride from Carlisle to Crammomd every year .

He had a word with the wife who owns the fish and chip shop in Moffat and persuaded her to stay open after midnight for the first ride they did , it’s now become an institution and no doubt her best days takings of the year.

A queue of cyclists late at night waiting for fish and chips , must be quite unique.

Snooker legend and techno DJ Steve Davis is a regular at Croziers and there is a framed photo of him in the shop

Steve lives in Brentwood so I think regular is unlikely.

Maybe Croziers just like Steve.

Once had a deep fried beetle among me chips from a well known seaburn outlet. I was only a kid so I went back to the counter and asked the lady if she wanted a chip

One Friday night I went to The Barnes chippy (now its Downeys) so collected my fish and chips and got in the car.

I was parked right outside so if you know where I mean this may make more sense (you've got to proper twist ya neck to see if there's cars coming from the one way system)

There was a Scooter coming and a car behind him, waited for the scooter and car to go past so pulled out quickly and BOOM!!

The scooter had pulled in and parked right in front of my car and I knocked him off and the car was on top of his scooter.

The chippy was chokka anarl so was canny embarrassing but the lad was fine just shaken and only scratches to his scooter.

Fish and chips was decent though.

A few years ago there was regular bother in the chippy at Whitburn on a Friday night so Northumbria's finest sent 2 plain clothes plod along to investigate, they both got battered & the chippy has shut at 7.30pm since

I went in my local chippy when I was about 14/15 pissed and they wouldnt hand over my order saying I hadn't paid. I was sure I had and started kicking off and the wee radge Italian owner jamp over the counter and started having a scrap with me. Someone I was with must have got hold of my dad and he came down and was threatening the owner with all sorts.

When I woke up in the morning I found the money rattling around in the lining of my jacket. I had a hole on the pocket and it must of fell through. Still havent told my dad I was in the wrong
