Black Lives Matter

That's half the issue though, how do you quantify the issues some have faced as being racist in nature. It's completely understandable why someone may believe an occurrence is racist when it isn't.

It's terrible that people go through their lives with that thought in the back of their head but given our history, I'm not sure how that can be eradicated?
You can’t quantify it - though statistics give a good indication that this is the case. You will always get people in all walks of life that blame their position on external factors that may or may not be the source.

As a white person I am happy to acknowledge that my path in life will have fewer bumps in the road than it would if I was BAME. Does anyone genuinely wish to dispute this assertion?

I just believe the system is fucked, officers are sometimes so scared they shoot first ask questions later and that’s down to a failed system, systemic racism, the press, the government and years of inequality. That’s my sentiments exactly, very much comparable to the young mothers in our region popping out kids becomes a way of life, some unlucky caught up in the system, to some it’s just the norm passed down through generation to generation. Gang life in America is quite glorified and has been for many years, just passed down through the years can you blame the system for it completely?? not in my eyes the individual has to take some responsibility, there is a lot more black people who have prospered in America than have reverted to a life of crime. Sometimes it’s easy to look at the negative. For true equality it should have been policeman killed George floyd not racist policeman, that’s my point do we really know it was race related or just a bellend policeman, abusing his power. At least two officer‘s present where mixed race doesn’t make it right in any way , but then it been called race motivated, suppose you’ll never know.
I don't believe race was the motivator. I just believe he was treated that way because he was black. Whether that was down to the particular officer, the system etc etc, it shouldn't have happened and wouldn't have gone down that way had the bloke been white. From the original reporting of the incident, to the questioning technique, to the detainment and force used despite no resistance to the fact he suffocated him under his knee for 9 minutes despite his pleading, calling for his dead mother and shortness of breath.

Yeah if anyone is struggling to work out what is going on, what a video of tommy Robinson, should really help you

Someone mentioned before, people who have had an issue with BLM fromnthe start, have predjudies from the start and probably still say "paki shop's" and think it is fine

Or they do their reseacrh !? It took me a few days, I thought it was an honorable thing at that start, certainly the words are.

Remember as a youngun I used to collect pin badges for my denim jacket ...anything to do with safc.
I think it’s the same with all the resident lefties ....just like to collect their badges at the rallies and protests.
Something to pass down the generations to the little urchins .

   Excellent, I still have my SAFC pin badges :)

what about the 3 white lads stabbed in reading at the weekend is it because they are white their lives don't matter all lives matter irrespective of skin colour
There have been outpourings of grief over their murders since the stabbings occurred. What are you talking about?
It's almost as though some people deliberately misinterpret the BLM message due to their long held racial prejudices.
Quite.

Too many idiots on here to actually think if you are walking round certain areas of our capital on a night you will be OK because you support blm I'm afraid that won't help you people complaining about a plane with a banner what about the 3 white lads stabbed in reading at the weekend is it because they are white their lives don't matter all lives matter irrespective of skin colour
the all lives matter statement is at a face value a noble statement, whilst at the same time entirely avoiding the point of why the deaths of black people are an issue above and beyond the normal unlawful killing of any human - the circular nature of all lives matter then justifies the point of BLM.

I agree but the statistics, at least in the manner that I have interpreted show a contradictory result to the insinuation that American police are systematically racist.

As for the second sentence, I don't wish to dispute it, I wouldn't know where to begin or where others would begin asserting that as fact. Like I said prior, I'm thankful that I don't have to go through life wondering If I have been treated differently due to the colour of my skin but can also imagine instances where this wasn't the case.

A lot of the discussion to me, bleeds into the disparity of wealth and how people start off in life as opposed to global racism. Either way, America appears to have massive problems on the whole, but here, not so much?

its a poll demonstrating the differences in perception between black and white races, being shot down by predominately white people as being divisive therefore entirely making the point of the argument. although im not sure an internet forum based around a uk football team with a population predominately in the north east of england as being the hot bed of civil rights mind.
Totally agree - it's horrific.
cancel it...

I 'unfriended' someone on Facebook last night who, day by day, had been sending out misinformation about BLM and generally spouting racist bile. I had kept him on for a while, because it was instructive to see what racist wankers were saying, but I reached my limit when he dumbly recounted that old shite about 'Irish slaves'.

The alt-right and their ilk have all guns blazing, right now. I guess that could be a good thing, in so far as it shows that they are worried about the rise of progressive voices.

Because, erm, he is a racist! Never mind the Law this is Trial by Twitter. Throw away the key and burn his business to the ground. All good stuff for 'The Movement'.
