I have to disagree Les.
i like the fact that he takes an almost dispassionate view of us.
He avoids getting caught up with the excitement when we are doing well, and also avoids the knee jerking when things are going wrong too.
Also offers an interesting insight as an ex-player and as someone who still works in the game.

Fk off talking sense! He does t whinge about SD and co constantly so obviously hates us.
marco drops the odd bollik but overall offers a decent View imho.

Disagree. He talks dispassionately because he simply doesn't really care. If you actually listen to the words he comes out with, he purposely never says anything that might have a hint of controversy, or be insightful in a way that might be deemed critical of the club , or offer any real personal opinions. He knows he is on the gravy train and will sit tight and not rock the boat. In addition, he actually knows very little about our current squad or how we play or the feelings of the fans , so he plays it safe by not saying anything risky at all. And BBC newcastle love this. It's innofensive whilst simultaneously allowing Donald and them to get away with ruining our club. Win win.

I never understand why people assume ex footballers automatically are insightful and intelligent when talking about the game.
