Agreed we 100% should have beaten them but as you say they had gained order from total and utter oblivion by the time of our fixture.

It needs 51% to pass. So, you’ve already got 6 clubs who vote for PPG (play offs) and you’ve got another 2-3 who would stay up based on it too. That’s already 8 out of 13 teams required for it to pass. The other mid table clubs will want it finished because of finances.

It’s end season now with unweighted points and go straight to playoffs. Number of teams in play offs is 4.
 
No excuses the players and manager have a bit to answer for, they put their hand up for massive wages for league 1 standard and failed to deliver, with new season few mths away time for the lads to get serious...

Were leagues being cancelled and decided on PPG before League One was suspended, like? We were outside the playoffs before it started happening elsewhere and so there was never a point where it didn’t affect us.

TBH, it could have been worse - we could have ended up like the Scottish League farce. Patrick relegated a point behind 2nd bottom with a game in hand FFS. There’s no fair way to decide it other than voiding the season or playing on.

If we were sitting 6th nobody would be complaining, we’d all be saying “3 games to get promotion”, even if we knew it wasn’t fair on other clubs.

Looks that way.
League Two was already set, just the relegation issue to factor in which looks to be decided.

It does make sense, you just don't agree with it. Both are rational views.

Back when it was allowed I could afford to eat out once or twice a week but not every night. As it is, all the play-off games are always televised while the average L1 game is not. The finances of playing play-off games is totally different to completing the regular season programme.

I imagine Sky will be chasing penalties (as seen in the PL and Championship) should they not be played as well.

Our squad is a complete mess with the amount out of contract and you know that our terrible recruitment staff won't have done a sufficient job in planning for it. Our signings will be last second again and be done on the cheap. The manager is a joke and the fans have already turned. As you say, we're going to be in trouble.

it was up there with the best of them, but there has been a few contenders for that accolade this season alone. gillingham away in the cup and away in the league for a start. plus scunthorpe away in the EFL trophy (they were bottom of L2 at the time i think) smashed us 3-0. lincoln-wycombe-shewsbury away in october, as a collective, was utterly dire (i drove to all three) i don't think we even had a shot on target in all three games combined, we certainly didn't score a bastard goal. bolton away, considering the opposition was a new low-point at the time.
 
Takes no account whatsoever for the inevitable mentalness which are the changes in position over the final 10 games.
In some ways, we've been looking like a team on a downward trajectory, but that's been said more than once this season already and we overcame it.
As things stand, all of our advantages have been negated with this method, more funds, better support and even form over say a 10 game period before the shutdown.
I'm not surprised by what's happen mind, it's so Sunderland. There'll be many teams above us relieved that they didn't have to play us and to compete with us.

I think the main reason we will struggle is the amount of changes to the team because of contracts expiring. It will be a weaker league because of the teams leaving but then who knows what the teams joining us will be like. Sad times but I fear it will get worse because we have no money to spend and the owners are pricing us out of a take over.
