I listened to a guardian football weekly podcast special recently where the spokesman for a Newcastle supporters group was putting fans point across re Ashley. He was saying one of the main issues that fans had with Ashley, was the way he treated Keegan. He lost a tribunal and another around Guttieriez who was sacked whilst he had cancer. The second at least was dreadful behaviour but Ashley’s attitude towards his fellow man does seem to pale rather in comparison to the way the potential new owners treat people. You know, the public beheadings etc. Seems a bit trite to say you want rid of Ashley because of his morals.
I've never had an issue with Ashley's morals, my issue was the club going nowhere under him and no ambition to change that.
I hear the public beheadings mentioned a lot, is it the fact that they are public that bothers you, is it beheading as a form of death sentence that bothers you or just the fact they have a death sentence? Just curious

Personally I have never been an advocate of the death penalty so i'm obviously not a fan of beheadings be they public or behind closed doors just wondered your views.

Other than the Saudis wanting to buy NUFC I don’t fully get the new interest in middle eastern affairs.
I’m happy to go on record saying I didn’t give a fuck prior to takeover and I don’t give a fuck now.

Most of the workers in the Sports Direct factory are Eastern Europeans yet I remember you all got upset at their zero hour contracts and were over joyed when Mike had to go in front of parliment over the way they were treated

I think this is the only time I can remember being on his side, i had a little laugh when he told them "i'm not Father Christmas"

My personal opinion is the average NUFC fan doesn't care that he uses zero hours contracts, it's just a case of when you're gunning for someone you use any stick you can to beat them with.
If you happen to disagree with zero hours contracts you think there is some ammo I can use against him.
I probably would as well but it would have made me hypocritical because i have said any amount of times they don't bother me.

Mate I’ve no gripe with you personally, I don’t know you. Don’t get hung up on whether the beheadings your prospective owners arrange are in public or not. Concern yourself with the generally appalling human rights record that they want to try and clean via your club. If they take over, the next murder they are complicit in or executions they authorise will, I guarantee you, be reflected upon the club you support.
It just will.
You might beat Man City 5-0 on the same weekend they murder another journo. You will be associated with the regime that did that. That’s just what is going to happen. They buy Newcastle and they know that comes with an army of social media warriors defending them. They will have bought you in every which way.

No, I don’t particularly care about that either. People only care about the running of the football club. If the Saudi lads come in and show a bit ambition then nobody will give a monkeys about what goes on behind the scenes in the Middle East.

This for me as well.
If they take us over and in a few years time we have some good players, playing good football and winning games i won't spare a second thought for the people in Saudi Arabia.
If the take over doesn't go through and we are stuck with Ashley, scrapping for survival playing absolute dross I still won't spare a second thought for the people in Saudi Arabia.

I mean the people of Iran live under a even worse regime with the same kind of values, how many of you have been worrying about them this week. For me until I wrote that sentence i have never given them a seconds thought.

Yeah same. I care about my family, job, community etc. With the upmost respect to the wider world I havnt got time to worry about any political regimental disputes taking place. I hope it all works out peacefully and we all live in harmony and all that but I’m not going to invest too much time in to it all.

Does every article on the Mag or the Chronicle have to reference the fact that they almost won the league with King Kev? It's almost like they're worried people will forget.

I think it’s more that we will forget, it’s all we’ve got to hang on !!

Ashley will soon be gone , Donald gets a rough deal on here, done a canny job to be fair , the hounding of him doesn’t make sense, steadied the ship and done everything the fans wanted.Poor bloke.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you hate Ashley and everything he does, yet seem to think Donald is doing a canny job. When this season is finally over and if the Saudi’s have disappeared, how about swapping owners, I’d be more than happy with that, how would you feel about it, or were you just talking sh!te again?

Just a quick summary.

At the start of April, the Mags takeover was imminent. According to Methven, SAFC will have new owners at the end of May.

2 June. Nothing happened.
Some simple rules everyone should follow:
Never believe what you read in the papers.
Never believe what you read on footy web sites.
Never believe Donald.
Never believe Methven.
Never give a shit about the mags.

stick by those and you’ll be okay.
