This. Absolute shite from them saying they were hitting 52k all that season, still high attendances but several in low 30's and early 40's...again very good but not the magical 52k.

Wasn't a single one in the low 30s mind. 36k v reading for the first home game was our lowest I'm sure. Then it gradually increased and we averaged around 44k.

To be honest I just want the NUFC I grew up with back. A club which strived to be the best it could be and give the likes of Man U and Barcelona hidings and reached for the stars. That's what I was used to and grew up on. Same as most mags in their late 20s-30s.

Regular top 6 finishes and European football more often than not and seeing our team break the world transfer record. Like anything in life if you grow used to a certain standard then things drop below that standard you won't be happy until you get back to where you were before.

Man U fans complaining about only winning the fa cup and only coming 5th seems daft, but that's because they grew up with far better.

you had the same number of top 6 finishes as you did outside under hall & shepherd

Not interested piss off back to reading the chronicle

I disagree, but that’s a separate point. My point was if no one cares about NUFC other than our fans, why are there so many posts?

I wasn't following the discussion so I'm going to assume what I think it was so forgive me if I get it wrong, but - I think the original point being made was that 'outside of the North East NUFC, like SAFC and a whole host of teams that haven't been relatively successful aren't really on the radar of other successful teams fans or the media'?

Pointing out that 'there's a lot of posts on an amalgamated thread of all NUFC threads for the past month on your closest rivals website that also happens to be one of the highest traffic football sites in the country' doesn't actually address that point does it?

How many times did you beat Barcelona? I remember you once beat them 3-2 but what were these hidings you refer to against them?

Mobilised the supporter base into protesting to the extent Ashley felt compelled to give 10K season tickets away as attendances plummeted.

Nee point mentioning attendances being down because we're shite as we had full houses in the second division. Nee point mentioning the last time being because of Rafa either as we did the same in 2009/10

Aye, only took 13 years of behaving like children

It'll happen, within the next 2 weeks it'll be approved. They're also in talks to buy a big north eastern company.. I'll leave that at that.

Nice to see that the person who thought Grayson was better than Benitez is still posting about us every day, madness how people still take his opinions as valid.

Anyway, and I mean this in good will. I've heard rumours of SD talking to people who represent an consortium in Dubai, specifically one who has been linked with NUFC (Hence me hearing about it) - they have the $$ no doubt, just waiting for the recent valuations of the land owned / complications with regards to the dell lot, I'm told.

Edit: For those who doubt me look back on my posts, years ago I said Sauidi would be taking over NUFC. Just 1 post then i ignored the lot. They looked at alot of clubs prior but settled on NUFC, Staveley has zero influence.

BZG are now looking at SAFC because they realise that in 2/3 years they'll be an expensive commodity, as rival to NUFC.

The takeover of NUFC is a good thing, itll bring jobs and opportunities to the the north east. Like it or not.

There's a thread on Grand Old Team dedicated to Newcastle United running over hundred of pages.

It might indicate that many fans of many different clubs don’t care about NUFC. But the fact there are now 500 pages on a Sunderland forum makes the point ‘NO-ONE cares’ null and void
I dont care enough to become a member of a Newcastle message board and post thousands of times thats for certain

Sad bastard
But you care enough to read and comment on a thread specifically about NUFC
