I could mention how this place often puts Sunderland amongst the bigger set of clubs in the country yet you can count the top half finishes in the top flight made in that same timeframe on one hand. Oh and how Shola Ameobi has scored more goals in European competition than Suderland have in their entire history.

I just find it funny how Sunderland are like in awe of Everton and have some big brother little brother thing going on.

You build Everton up as this massive club and say Newcastle have only had "a few years in Europe" when we've actually had more seasons in Europe than your beloved Everton.

Again the main reason I can think of for this bond is you both share the common bond of having higher profile near neighbours who at both seen as arrogant gobshites etc

Everton have more league titles than you. Won a proper Europe trophy in 1985 and a FA Cup in 1995. Have never been relegated. They'd probably would have won the European Cup if it was for the ban on English clubs.

Everton are a similar club to us. But we're as big clubs like us, you, Villa, Leeds, both Sheffield clubs have faded away. Everton have managed to remain a top side.

The fish are certainly biting today, definitely going all out to justify their European pedigree. They do say to kick out when backed into a corner and there is certainly some kicking going on here

They are a bigger club that Everton now because they've been in Europe more often than them.

We qualified for The Fairs Cup in 1969-70 due to being the holders.

I’m not interested in the whole relevance and criteria of qualification. I am though glad that when i look back I can say I’ve had great times in some of Europe’s most beautiful cities watching my team. I can’t even remember the score of some of the trips but the memories of the trip with my mates will stay with me forever.

But you didn't. The Fairs Cup isn't a European competition. UEFA doesn't recognize it. Just like the Coppa del Alpi.
