if travel abroad is allowed anytime soon

I’m hoping to get away in September, work from home anyway so self isolating for two weeks when I get home isn’t a problem.

What worries me a bit are the thermal cameras they want to scan folk with. What if its just a really hot day & get a bit sweaty? Would you then not be allowed to board plane, and lose entire cost of holiday cos insurance won't pay claiming its covid related?

Covid properly raises it. Being hot and sweaty doesn't even put a dent in your body temp. Get yasel away man

Don't have any worries about going away safety wise. Just don't want to lose a load of money on something like that (might be something else other than covid that could cause a high temp)

Ya wouldn't lose your money to be fair. Being a bit clammy raises ya temp by 0.1/0.2

Covid cranks it right up. Our lass hit 39 degrees

I just don't want to book anything and have the whole thing cancel on me.

The plan is to ditch this year, and see how it all pans out, then book something that would normally be over budget next year.

would you feel happy going on holiday we lost out on Euro Disney this week and have just changed our July holiday to next year....im Hoping October half term we might be able to book something.....

personally id go away tomorrow if i could but i nah the Mrs wouldn't. Croatia has now opened its borders for holidaymakers
Technically correct with regards to Croatia. Its borders are open to EU citizens. They are expected to allow visitors from the UK and the USA in a couple of weeks time. We were booked to go to Tuscany in September and although things are more promising over there now, you will still be expected to where a mask inside cultural sites in Italy so that puts us off. I thought long and hard about switching to Croatia instead as I love the place and masks aren't required there but we've decided to take the sensible option and have booked the Scottish Highlands instead. A staycation it is for us this year.

We plan to rearrange our Easyjet flights to Italy and push them back to May next year as Easyjet release their May 2021 flights on Tuesday 2nd June.

Booked flights yesterday to Preveza for 15 nights (mid August) was cheap enough £90 return, figured if we can't go we'd just wait on a refund/exchange for a later date.

No I wouldn’t. Seriously doubt all the ruff tuff types on this thread seriously would either. The PO sent me my annual travel insurance renewal form today though! How’s that for waste of paper?
I've just read that the Greeks are going to "ban the brits" according to the daily fuhrer
Was news two weeks ago marra!

Hopefully getting our Kos holiday moved to July or August.

I would love a holiday too like, probably somewhere in this country as we were away for January before all the covid-19 shit. Somewhere with a change of scenery where we can take the dog.

The second it's confirmed we are allowed we'll go.

I've not worn trousers in about 10 weeks now.
I’ve had the same lot of boxers, shorts , T-shirt x3 for 83 days now. One lot on, two lots in wash. They don’t get ironed or put away just hoyed on bed in spare room. Sox? Not seen a pair for 83 days.

Just looked up Centre Parks. £1200 for a week in August.

... no food, no flights, no transport, just a cabin in the woods.
Probably end up paying out over £2000 in the end.

2 weeks AI in the canaries is £2500.

No staycation for me then.
