As for the high profile company you mention, you do realise you’re talking about one of the lower teams in the Premier, a team that will soon be celebrating it’s centenary since it was last crowned English Champions.

10 out of 10 though for trying to big up your club, but you’re wasting your time trying it on here.

Does that not contradict the proposed theory by a lot on here that NUFC will become “the most hated team in England” if this goes through ?

You are aware that there’s virtually nothing happening in the world of sport at the moment so even a footballer going to a party is making the news for days on end, that doesn’t make this huge public interest. Now if you were a Chronicle reader, then I could understand your statement.

If they start throwing obscene amounts of money around and people then mention the club as a Saudi toy then you probably would become the most hated (after Man Utd probably)

Maybe, but it’s reassuring to know the next generation of red n whites across Sunderland and Durham will all now be wanting NUFC strips for Christmas ;)

Hardly.... Just think it’s sad what has become of football and the people that support it. If you truly wanted your football club back you would encourage fan ownership but that wouldn’t possibly lead to any success would it? So let’s just beg some murderous Middle Eastern State to own it.

even more reassuring knowing the money from those strips will go to the club, not to Ashley.

Yer I think Liverpool did it along with Spurs and possibly others.
They all reversed it though, obviously excluding us.

As far as I know I think only NUFC is using the furlough scheme.

To be honest though I don't see what the issue is with premier league teams using the scheme, I don't know why the premier league is singled out.
That's not a defence of NUFC, I just don't see why football clubs shouldn't use it.

Also the only premier League club to use the Corona Virus extension to delay releasing the accounts for some reason

Neither will I.
Should the Saudi government decide to fund some terrorist organisation i don't think they will be diverting the profits from my shirt from the club to fund it.

For the record though if I read a article which claims that the money from me season ticket, football shirt, or pints at the ground is being siphoned out the club to buy RPG's for some terrorist i'll be absolutely fizzing about it.

We've probably furloughed our accountant or we have to wait for the one bloke he employs to do his 3000 random clothing/sporting/biking companies first

Are the players wages exempt from the furlough scheme surely? I could see that being very controversial If government cash was used to pay millionaires
