Cummings - one rule for us...

it wasn’t about the child catching it, it was about someone being able to look after him, feed him wipe his arse put him to bed and all that

and before I get accused of defending him I think he should be sacked or resign
My son and partner still managed it with a more demanding 2 year old.

I still fail to understand how you don’t think driving 265 miles with symptoms and an ill wife to a place that isn’t your home is wrong? How many people has the buffoon potentially infected on route to a house that isn’t his own?

you have no interest in accusing him of being in the wrong because you don’t want to even though the facts are clear for everyone to see.

Extremely odd behaviour

Asking questions that need to be asked before being able to make a credible judgement is odd? There are a whole series of decisions made before getting in the car to go to Durham we don't know about yet. If it turns out it was his first resort without trying to solve the problem while staying at home, then fair enough.

We also seem to be doing that George W Bush thing, where Cummings is both an evil genius and a halfwit simultaneously depending on the line of attack. Does anyone really think he wouldn't have made sure he was bulletproof before going, in anticipation of the media storm?

Why wasn't he fined?
Why has the story come out on the day it'll do the least damage?

Should stick these easily followed guidelines on the NHS site to avoid all the confusion.

Do you have the virus?

No - Make sure stay home so you don't give it to anyone.

Yes - Go out and spread it.

Im on about this piers tweet not cummings.

Piers morgan does not have the virus. So why are a load of people on here saying hes bang on for threatening to go see his parents at a 2m distance when people have been doing that already the prat.

Im not arsed about cummings either, i wasn't about that labour mp. Only he will know the real circumstances, does seem odd he would venture to durham for a holiday so i am guessing theres a reason why he went there.

I wouldn't want anyone on this board sacked for doing that so im not gonna join in with the meltdown asking for the mans job.
You don’t think the person advising the government to tell people not to visit the elderly or their parents and telling those over 70 to stay indoors for 12 weeks should be sacked for visiting his elderly over 70 year old parents while he literally had coronavirus? f***ing ridiculous.

New poster here, always kept an eye on your results as my Ex was from Peterlee (Yeah I know).

Just want to take exception with a few things. Please don't base any opinion of us Brummies (Yeah I'm one) on anything to do with what BrumBlue says. Birmingham in general hasn't ignored lock down advice and done a Cummings and gone where and when they wanted to. The City has been mostly a ghost town, the city center completely dead and up until around 7 days ago, mostly the same elsewhere. I drive for a living so see a lot of the areas all around the City. It's gotten a fair bit busier since the Tory shill media and Johnson started diluting the message with talk of Happy Mondays etc. From his defense of them I'd say he's from South of the City where unfortunately we had enough idiots buying their bullshit to vote in a Tory Mp in Northfield, the rest of the City is thoroughly Labour.

And why the Police decided not to hit him with a fine.
Police notorious for pursuing the cronies of Government officials with the utmost rigour and to the letter if the law, of course. Nothing more that a copper loves doing than putting their neck on the line with their political masters.

Wasting your time mate, there's a handful of wums/ignorant/thick as pigshit posters who will happily sit on here arguing black is white all day long. The facts could not be simpler or clearer and yet somehow the situation isn't easy to assess.

You’ll never change your opinion, that’s fine stick to it.

I find it odd that you need further proof that travelling with symptoms is not okay.

Are the police fining everyone who’s breaking the rules? Because I’ve a mate in Durham plod who informs me that they are doing very little in the way of fines for breaking the rules. Educate them to follow the rules was the term he used

I doubt the chief architect to the government is going to get fined for travelling even though he should have.

So he thought he was ill? Or he worried he might become ill cause his wife was? And his kids would automatically not already be ill? And his best course of action was to drive to Durham on his mother’s birthday to leave his potentially alresdy infected kids with family?

Did they not stop either way on the 200mile plus journey for petrol or to have abreather?

The hypocrisy absolutely stinks. The amount of people who will now look at this and think one rule for them one rule for us and do as they please will do massive damage.

The senior Tories would rather defend an unelected bureaucrat than put the nation first. f***ing disgraceful.

It’s not enough. Why did they release this on a day it would cause the least damage? Why wasn’t he fined? Questions @The Exile needs answering before he accepts mob rule.
