I would love to see the footage of the interviews with Short for STID.
Anyway, STID.

in my defence it was early for a rant. I was on my first coffee as well, this working from home malarkey has turned me into a right lazy twat
I wouldn't worry mate I haven't got a clue where to start a new paragraph I just put one in after every 4 or 5 lines 😁

Cracking post and number 3 is the point that most pisses me off. As you say, he's sold of an entire team of really highly-rated young uns who we've developed for 6-8 years for fuck all.
As it probably take 10 years for the development, we'll not be seeing either our own players coming through to the first team or serious money for players for at least a decade, for the sake of £1.5m or so.
Anyone defending him, just consider that for a moment. What the fuck are we going to do for the next 10 years?
This is the element that disappoints me the most because, having listened to a parent on here, I believe he has done this intentionally but quite stealthily. He/the club have pocketed some short term cash but totally wrecked any future plan. Talking about the Dortmund model was horrendous when they have done the opposite. Had we kept those youngsters, which according to one of the parents was possible, we could be looking at quite an exciting few years with youngsters coming through as we rise back up.

In 1987 we had Owers/Armstrong/Ord and bought Gabbiadini and those lads took us out of the 3rd and played all the way to the top flight. What is most annoying/tragic is that Donald has done this but thought he'd got away with it without anyone noticing. We'll pay for this for the next 4 or 5 years.

Absolutely mate. If anything shows what they actually think of the club, this is it. They were/are banking on being well away and it not being their problem.
So what if it strangles the club for years (10 or more)?
Ashley up the road has done some questionable things but f***ing the club for the following decade? Despicable.

I will try honestly
1, I can not and will not defend all their actions, they took on more than they could chew, they made errors in judgement on the manager and the scouting staff.
They did what they did with the best intentions, it's like a lot of business outside footy, it just did not go the way they wanted.
2. if the new guys don't happen, we have to hope FPP leave the balance of the loan/funding in place for team strengthening.(in fact we don't have another option) SD will not give the club to people who are less able to run the club than him.
3. IMHO if FPP leave the balance of the funds I think that's as good as it will get, please remember that's just IMHO.
4. Depends on the Cat of the AOL if we lose the cat 1 IMHO it will be a weight of our shoulders, just look at the results to see it needs massive change over there.
5. They have not, also I do not know the details of the payback other than an arrangement was structured, a poster on here sent me a PM with what appeared to be a well informed and detailed summary of the agreement.
6. My only view is I honestly believe we would have gone into administration loads on here think SAFC are to big a club for that, the fact Short bailed most of the debt, he did not clear ALL the hidden stuff.
7. yes SD CM and a few senior folks at the club read this. OH and PS the lad who posted SD's personal number on twitter should be named and shamed.
The FPP loan was there in the last window , why wasn't it used for team strengthening then ?
Why can t the money sd loaning from the club not be used to ensure we don't lose cat 1 status ?
Interesting to see you couldn't come up with any good points of note yet still defend them

We lost mcgeady Mcnulty and de bock the replacements cost less so not only did we not invest he actually saved money

He sells second hand cars and counts his customers as his mates. He’s a MLF so probably has a bit crack with them gets a bit star struck and fills in the blanks to defend his “mates”. Gets too much attention on here.

They did what they did with the best intentions, it's like a lot of business outside footy, it just did not go the way they wanted. If they acknowledge they made errors, why haven't they made changes? The scouting is a joke

4. Depends on the Cat of the AOL if we lose the cat 1 IMHO it will be a weight of our shoulders, just look at the results to see it needs massive change over there. SD appointed the Academy Manager, if it needs massive change why hasn't he done something about it?
5. So the reported removal of the clause is nothing to worry about? Or made up rubbish?
6. My only view is I honestly believe we would have gone into administration loads on here think SAFC are to big a club for that, the fact Short bailed most of the debt, he did not clear ALL the hidden stuff. So they didn't do enough DD? Why haven't they been honest that they cant fund the club

Having had a sleep and a chance to think about your responses, I've added my thoughts to yours above.

Your honest summary, doesn't make great reading, it appears they know they have / are failing yet don't appear to have done anything about. The academy being ran into the ground is a real concern and nothing is being done about it.

Good post. People defending the owners will repeat his lies about bigger clubs being able to poach our youngsters for nothing. It’s since been completely disproven. we know now we had to give permission first, we know that no one from our side contacted the parents of at least one of these kids after permission was given and we know the kid and parents got no immediate financial reward from it.

If we had sat these lads down and showed them how this club being at this level could be good for them and show them a pathway to the first team at least a few of them would have been likely to stay. Instead we allowed the likes of mumba, embleton, robson etc to get pushed further down the pecking order by rank average journeymen so their career stagnates or regresses. Which young lad wants to see that happen.

Why stay at a club like us? A club that doesn’t value its academy or young players whatsoever. Where a couple hundred thousand in immediate cash is more important than the prospect of investing in its future. Where we hire a academy director who hasn’t even run an academy before let alone a category one academy and even let him work part time and commute from the south coast.

The elephant in the room for me is that there's no one who wants us who'd put in more money than the current owners.

There are only so many billionaires and you need them to be mates with someone who loves SAFC, that's the only way it'll happen, FPP don't sound like they're interested in owning us outright so we either bring more investors on board with FPP and MSD or we continue to limp along.

Donald himself reckons the club should make a decent profit this year. I’m not bothered about a billionaire I just want someone who runs us properly and makes good footballing decisions.

Since we came down to this level and gutted the squad we should have had £40m in parachute payments, £25m in player sales and about £40m in match day revenue plus about £20m in loans while our wage bill has been around the £14m p/a mark. If theyve not managed to sort the finances out while those sorts of figures have come through the club they want shooting.

So why have they secured the stadium and academy

Their net position at the minute is that they've taken more out in (subsequently written off) loans than they've put in, so I'm not sure how you've come to the conclusion that they've put money in overall. Even the recent £10m injection ultimately came from someone else ffs.

He definitely knows he's failed. I remember after the play off defeat him sitting there saying how he'd failed, felt he'd let everyone down and needed to make sure that didn't happen again. We then did nothing of note in the transfer market and, imo, ended up with a worse side than the one that ended the previous campaign. And now we're scratching around desperately hoping for an extension of the play off places because we couldn't even get comfortably in the top 6 with 2 months to play. He needs to not just realise he's failed, but also accept that when you fail in business you might lose money and thus sell us for a fair price. If you could just take a business, do shite and expect a big profit because you "worked hard" then we'd all be businessmen

This too. When short left he had royally fucked us but not only made a loss but personally paid off the debts the club had accrued during his tenure. Those defending Donald and his right to set a price and make a profit are the same ones still slaying short. Bizarre

The club is staring into oblivion. The coronavirus going to finish it off. It’s sad it’s finished at such a low ebb......nothing lasts forever....remember the good times

I doubt FPP would have done due diligence, set up companies etc if they weren’t taking over. Not saying that ship hasn’t now sailed but they were intending on taking over
